One of my Favorite Days of the Year!

Happy Sunday, dear friends.

Thirty years ago in 1984, President Ronald Reagan declared July National Ice Cream month.
President Reagan also designated the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day.
In honor of this auspicious occasion, I offer you a very sweet post for today.  Sorry, I that I am a tad tardy with this post - I was celebrating at Dairy Queen.

  1. Guess we've come to a parting of the ways - IMHO Dairy Queen does not qualify as real ice cream but a soft imposter.

  4. Last night the husband and I took a tapas cooking class. Dessert was an olive oil ice cream (made in an ice cream maker and including cream cheese) drizzled with a red wine, cinnamon and sugar reduction. I try not to overuse this phrase but OMG it was amazing!!!! I'm going to (eventually) write a post about it and will include the recipe. Truth be told, the topping was good enough to drink on its own or would be a killer topping on French toast - especially if that French toast was topped with ice cream!
