The Friday Files

Hello, dear friends.  I'm sure you all catch the significance of the above photo.  Everyone knows that it is National Chocolate Covered Nut Day, one of my personal favorite national holidays.  If you are at work or working from home, take the rest of the day off.  You can tell them that I said so.

And if you are not sweet on chocolate, it is also National Clam Chowdah Day.

All goes back to normal today.  Chowdah heads home.  Tomorrow night we are meeting Adorable Jonathon's parents for dinner, which is always a treat.

All About Audio Books

Hello, dear friends.

How was your weekend?

We entertained some new friends and some old friends for dinner on Saturday night.

Reading, Watching, & Listening

Hello, dear friends.  How are things in your world?  All is well here.  The Mister took the day off, so we are getting some errands taken care of.  I'm sure there will be lunch involved.  Have I mentioned that the Mister is food-driven?

On Wednesday, I met my buddy, Lori for lunch.  She is helping me design my new office.  As you can see, we are working with a blank slate.  Since the Mister will be retiring again soon, I want my new sanctuary done and fully equipped with a No Boys Allowed sign.

From Soup to Nuts

Hello, dear friends.  I hope this finds you well.  How was your weekend?  Ours was a lot of fun.  I talked the Mister into hitting a few consignment shops with me.  We didn't find anything, but I let him pick out our lunch destination.  If you haven't guessed, both Millie and the Mister are food-driven.

Speaking of food, we went out for a delightful dinner with friends on Saturday night.  If you ever find yourself in or around McKinney, I highly recommend Harvest.  The food, as well as the service, was exemplary.

Today, I am meeting an old friend who happens to be a decorator for lunch.  She has helped me with a few projects in my last Texas home.  I still haven't tackled my home office, so I will ask her to help with the design and implementation.

A Pop of Red

Hello, dear friends.  Are you happy that it's Friday?  It was a good week around our nest.  I had a catch-up lunch with an old buddy, and I also enjoyed lunch with some new friends.

The most challenging part of going out to eat is deciding on the restaurant.  We have so many wonderful ones in town.  My new friends chose Hugs Cafe for lunch.  It is dedicated to providing meaningful training and competitively-paid employment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  It is darling, and the staff is sweet and friendly.

A Hodgepodge Full of My Favorite Things

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you are having a good week.  Today,  Millie is headed to camp, and I have a lunch date, so all is well in my world.

Today, I am linking up with my friend, Joyce, at From This Side of the Pond for some hard-hitting questions on her Hodgepodge series.

Sunday's Q & A

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you are having a good weekend.  Yesterday, I made it out of the house for the first time since our ice storm.  The Mister and I caught up on errands and had a nice lunch.

Today, we are off to Dallas to meet our #2 for lunch at one of my favorite restaurants.  I like to feed the Mister before we go shopping - he's always in a much better mood.

Today, I am linking up with Bev at Sunday Stealing.  The questions have been stolen from Stephen Colbert.

The Friday Files

Hello, dear friends.  Baby, it's cold outside.  We had quite a storm on Wednesday, and we have yet to recover.  The roads are covered in ice, and it doesn't look like it's going to warm up anytime soon.

The only one in the family who enjoys the snow is Millie.  It is her first time experiencing it.  She likes to go out every ten minutes to do her part by noshing on it.  Getting up out of my chair to open the door is the extent of my cardio.

Prime Time

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that this post finds you well.  Thanks to all who wrote me a note with get well wishes.  I am feeling like my old self.  I only felt under the weather for one day.  The Mister and I have tested ourselves every morning, and thankfully we have been negative.

It's the first Tuesday of the month, so I am linking up with my buddy Tanya from The Other Side of the Road and her Prime Purchases party.  I always get great ideas from other bloggers who have linked up.
