Summer Reading

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend.  Our Mother's Day celebration was one less this weekend because my #2 had a bear of a head cold.  However, we had one more honoree - it was my #1's first Mother's Day!

We had lunch at FachiniThe Mister and I had never been there before. I give it 5-stars; the food and service were exemplary.

Books & Birthdays

I hope that you all had a great weekend.  Ours was pretty soggy.  My birthday was on Friday, and the Mister took me to lunch at Capital Grille, one of my favorites.  I went out of my comfort zone and ordered the tenderloin sliders, which were to die for.

Never, Never, Hardly Ever

I hope that you had a good week!  All is well here. We took our favorite grandchild and her parents out for lunch.

My Favorite Reader Tanya

I hope that you had a good weekend.  We met our dear friends, Miss Deb and Sir Rex, at my new favorite restaurant, Joey's

They enjoyed our favorite appetizer, hummus and tzatziki, with crispy pita chips, as much as we did.  As always, it was great fun catching up.

Our Latest Reads

I don't know about you, but this week just whipped by.  That usually doesn't happen during my least favorite month of the year.

I played pickleball for the first time in 3 months!  I took some time off so that my fellow picklers could catch up to my razor-sharp skills and state-of-the-art form.

Evidently, they spent their extra practice time honing their cheating skills.

My Favorite Reader Shannon

.

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend.  Ours was full of music as well as friends.  I will fill you in on Friday.

I am thrilled to welcome Shannon back to this series.  You can read her first post here.  I met Shannon through my dear friend, Annie, who is her aunt.  Annie also contributed to this series.  You can read her post here

Our Favorite Books of 2023

Baby, it's cold outside!  I'm pretty sure that I'll be hunkering down today in front of the fire with the Mister and my book.  The Chef made beef stew which makes the house smell so good.

My Favorite Reader Jude

I hope you had a wonderful week.  All is well here.  It is freezing out.  But as the Mister says, you don't have to shovel cold weather.  Feel free to quote him.

I have a treat for you today.  My pal, Jude of @heyjudereads, agreed to answer my hard-hitting questions for the second time!  You can find her first post here.

My Favorite Reader, Paige

I hope that you had a good week.
Ours was very quiet.  I am officially done with Covid! Today, I am venturing out of the house after being in quarantine for ten days.

The Mister and I have a busy day ahead.  I need to do a lot of returning of things after all of my impulse buys while feeling sorry for myself.  The Mister loves seeing me return things.  He's not so hot on seeing me walk out of the store with a bigger bag than I brought in, though.

Summertime Reading

First of all, I want to thank everyone who took the time to comment on my first post back from my sabbatical.  Your sweet words concerning Chowdah's passing really warmed my heart. I also loved the parts where you said you missed me.

My Summer Reading List

Did you have a good weekend? I hope that all of the mothers out there were spoiled rotten.

My weekend did not turn out as I had expected.  Saturday, I was supposed to have a mother/daughter day with my #2.  She made reservations at the spa and lunch at one of my favorite restaurants.

My Favorite Reader, Anne

Hello, dear friends.  How was your weekend?  Ours was a busy one.  I met one of my favorite Bookstagrammers, Jude, from heyjudereads, for lunch on Friday.  I always enjoy seeing Jude and chatting it up with her about books.  Btw, I featured Jude in this series here.

On Saturday, we met our favorite parents-in-law, AJ's parents, for lunch at Davio's.  There is seldom a pause when we get together.  The men love to talk about everything from cars to wiring.  Meanwhile, Mrs. A and I kept busy chatting about what has kept us entertained lately.

On Sunday, we met #1, Adorable Jonathon, and #2 for lunch, which is always a guaranteed good time.

Reading Between the Lines

I hope this post finds you well.  The weather has been beautiful the past few days.  Friday night, we were supposed to meet some old friends for dinner.  We had to cancel because I woke up with a migraine that had me in its clutches all day long.

Saturday, I woke up fit as a fiddle.  We met the Adorables (AJ's parents) in Plano at one of my favorite places, Seasons 52.  The food was delicious, and as always, the company was delightful.

My Favorite Reader, Shannon

I am very excited to bring you today's post. Readers seem to enjoy this series, and I love hearing about what some of my favorite people are reading.

Today, my friend, Shannon, is in the hot seat, answering all my hard-hitting questions. Shannon is a bit younger than my usual victim appointee. I have been following her on Instagram for many years.

Shannon is a young woman of many talents. She makes gorgeous dresses, enjoys DIY projects, and obviously, loves to read.    Shannon also loves to entertain her friends and family.

Reading Between the Lines

I hope that you had a good weekend.  The  Mister and I did some errands and then had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory on Saturday.  Boy has that place ever gone downhill.  It used to be one of my favorites because it has a delicious Skinny menu. My salad was 95% lettuce. And the place is dirty.

Now that I got that off my chest, on Sunday, we had lunch with our #2.  We went to one of my favorite restaurants, Honor Bar.

I had the usual Macho Salad, which was music to my tastebuds.

My Favorite Reader... The Mister

Happy Valentines Day!  We woke up to storms and a distinctive drip... drip... drip in our master bath.  The Mister, who never met a ladder he wouldn't climb, inspected the suspicious spot.  He thinks it may be a puncture in the sprinkler hose.  But we will leave the leak to the experts for a final diagnosis.

My Favorite Reader... Tanya

I hope that this post finds you well.  I am reporting from our little nest a lot more refreshed and relaxed.  I am in the process of putting together a post chronicling my experience at the Supermodel Trophy Wife camp.

Today, my favorite reader is Tanya from the entertaining blog, The Other Side of the Road. Although I have never met Tanya in person, I consider her a friend.  Tanya has been blogging since 2004.  Her posts include travel, recipes, family life, and of course, books. I have watched her darling children grow into their college years. And now, Tanya and her Mister have stepped into a season of their own... empty nesterhood.

My Favorite Reader... Mary

TGIF!  I hope all is well with you in your corner of the world.  Boy, am I ever happy that this week is over.  I spent most of my spare time checking my phone to see what day of the week it was.

I have a treat for you today.  If you are a frequent reader, you know that I started a new series last year focusing on my dear friends who are voracious readers.  I am always curious about people's reading habits and their latest favorite books.

My Favorite Reader - Jude

I hope this post finds you well.  How was your weekend?  I had a very good one.  Friday night, I met some ladies from the 'hood for happy hour at our village wine bar.  It was great to catch up with them.

Saturday, we met our favorite parents-in-law, The Adorables, for a delicious lunch at Jose On Lovers.  My daughter always asks if we talked about them.  I honestly tell her that we don't.  I don't think she thinks we have lives outside of our children.

We hit a hiccup in our construction process.  Hopefully, we'll get back on track today.

The Mister takes deep cleansing breaths when he is out in his precious garage.  It's hard for him to see such chaos in his pristine space.

My Favorite Reader... Annie

I hope that you enjoyed your weekend.  Our weekend was very relaxing.  We filled up our Costco love tank, took care of a few errands, and went out for a nice lunch.

No filter!

You will never see these two words under a photo of me.
