Hello, dear friends. Did you have a good week? If you were lucky enough to be on Spring Break, I imagine you did. Mine was pretty good, and it seemed to fly by. The bookshelves are built, the desk and console have arrived, the paint is chosen, and the fabric is in transit, which brings me to the halfway mark of my office renovation.
The other day I was thinking about Easters of the past. There are not a lot of them that I remember. I already bored you with the Bunny Cake Escapade with Sista.

Hello, dear friends. I hope that you had a good weekend. Ours was pretty busy, but we got a lot done. Today my new desk arrives, and tomorrow the carpenter is due to begin working on my office.
Today's post is all about Easter/Spring table settings and centerpieces. I know it's a shock to you, but I did not lift a finger in producing any of the beauty or creativity.

Hello, dear friends. I hope that you had a good weekend. We were blessed with more gorgeous weather. On Friday night, we met some new friends for dinner.
Our #2 took us out to lunch to thank us for babysitting Chowdah. We met at one of my favorite places, Honor Bar. They have the best guacamole in the world, and their Macho Salad is to die for.
We got a lot of reading and relaxing in too.
Today is the day that I link up with my friend, Tanya, for her Prime Purchases party. I have a treat for you today. I got a nice note from one of my loyal, longtime readers last week. Kathy lives outside Boston, and I have had the pleasure of meeting her in person. She sent me a list of some of her favorite things that she has purchased from Amazon over the years. It was perfect timing because all of my Amazon orders were reorders, which I have already talked about.
Nightlights – in all bathrooms and hallways, the kitchen, basement, etc. I have them in the foyer, mudroom, and near any place I may wander late at night (like the kitchen).
Jar opener – it pops the seal... then just a gentle twist to open the jar – other colors available.
OXO ice scoop – I keep it in my freezer ice bin
Plastic knife that doesn’t scratch metal (brownie/cake) pans
Silicone lids for microwaving and food storage in the fridge (in my effort to use less plastic wrap)
Dust cloths – a bit tacky to grab dust.
Oreck vacuum bag air fresheners – I break one up and place it in a new vacuum bag.
Different size configurations available - there are lots of different brands of packing cubes available now, but my family has used this original brand for many years.
BIG baking sheet – I love this cuz holds a lot. It's great for sheet-pan dinners, roasting vegs, cooking for company. Sometimes I line it with x-long foil before baking. It takes up the entire rack in my oven, so measure your oven before purchasing
Carbona Stain Devils – many different ones – removes all my (husband's) clothing stains.
Digital instant-read thermometer - we use it for all meat that we cook.
Small fruit colander
Recommended by my dentist / thicker and more effective than drug store brands. Easy to pull it through tight teeth.
I hang this Silicone shower brush on my removable shower hook.
Silver Lilly invisible belt – some of my pants require a belt and this one lies very flat under tops. I put the buckle to the left of first belt loop on the left for minimal detection.
Calf stretcher slant board – a “must” for runners and walkers. I have it in a prominent place, so I walk by it and use it several times every day.
Shoe storage rack in my mudroom. It is sturdy and comes in other sizes and finishes.
LaCross room thermometer (+ humidity) – I have them in several rooms that run warm/cool.
Sloggers – waterproof rain/gardening – I purchased my normal size (with socks), and at first, they seemed a bit tight but quickly loosened up to be comfortable and fit perfectly. They come in several colors.
Christmas ornament storage container – 2 or 3 tiers - I like the handles on both trays and the adjustable compartment configurations.
Thank you so much, Kathy!!
Do you have any favorites that you've ordered from Amazon?
Email me at: preppyemptynester@gmail.com., and I will mention them next month.
Until next time...

Hello, dear friends.
I hope that you had a good week.
I am happy to report that all is well around here.
Our new recliners finally arrived from Calico Corners.
We waited 7 months, but they were worth the wait.
Hello, I'm Katie
I'm Katie. Welcome to my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020 and relocated to the Dallas suburbs and our forever home.
I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, shopping, decorating, Bravo, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my new little mischief-maker, thoroughly darling Millie. I love hearing from my wonderful readers.
