I hope that you had a good week. Yesterday, the Mister and I ventured out to Costco, and the place was packed. I hadn't been there in months because the Mister is our chief purchasing agent. He likes to take solo runs because he claims that I slow him down. Well, excuse me for getting into the taster line for a fourth time! I wanted to make an educated decision about whether or not the peanut butter pretzels are worth the calories. By the way, they are.
Our village seldom gets trick-or-treaters. Word must have gotten out that we are all over sixty and too tired to answer the door. But that doesn't stop the Mister from buying a five-pound bag of his favorite candy.
Last night, as we were ready to turn in at 7:15, the doorbell rang. We froze! Even Millie was shocked! The Mister grabbed his bag of candy, which was about two pounds lighter by then, and opened the door to two darling little towheads. By then, the Mister was experiencing a sugar high and divided his well-coveted bag into their empty sacks. The little girls' eyes were as big as saucers! Relief rolled over the parents' faces; they could now go home with full bags. It was a Halloween miracle!

Catalogs are back!
Years ago, when there was no internet, one of my neighbors hosted a catalog party. We would all bring our favorite catalogs, feast on wine and apps, and make notes on what to order the next day.
Do you like macarons? Here is some
sweet history and the darling town where they originated.
My fellow blogger and pal, Leslie Anne Tarabella, has a new book out! It is her fourth, and if it's as funny as her past books, we are in for a treat.
Leslie Anne is the epitome of a Southern Lady. Her humorous slant on life in her beloved hometown, Fairhope, will keep you in stitches.
This dropped yesterday which is always a treat for me!
Alan tours many spectacular homes for inspiration.
I'll give this one a whirl.

Thank you so much for featuring my new book! It’s so nice to be supported by lovely people like yourself! Now, if you could only do my shopping, I’d be a totally sophisticated cutie. Love your style and as always, thanks for the encouragement and needed dose of fun! - Weekend hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteSounds like not everyone liked your book. Here's how it is, next time some Karen gets in your face on the street and yells about your stuff, blast her with pepper spray. It's self defense and no one will bother you on the street again.

ReplyDeleteWill you be posting any suggestions from the mister about what guys want for Christmas? Now that I have my new love, it will be our first Christmas together so I wanna get something good & appreciated by guys. Me in CA falling head over heels in love & slightly missing HI.
That is so funny about the trick-or-treaters. We got a steady stream, but fewer than previous years. I'm looking forward to the Diplomat and Martha.
ReplyDeleteNothing brightens my day like the arrival of my favorite catalogs, happy to read they’re making a comeback. Looking forward to Martha and going to checkout the budget dermatologist. Thanks for never steering me wrong! KTG
