Hostess Gifts

I hope all is well in your world.  We have been enjoying some gorgeous weather here in North Texas.

On Saturday, the Mister and I went on a wonderful house tour in the charming area of Lakewood. I always enjoy tours of homes that people actually live in a tad more than the showhouses.

Unfortunately, pictures were not allowed.  I got this photo from the website.  This was my favorite house. The decor was Country French, and the gorgeous French antiques were nothing less than magnificent. I could have stayed in this house all day, but the Mister dragged me out!

We met our #2 and Darlin' Will for lunch at Hudson House, which is a personal favorite of mine.  They went on the tour after lunch, and we all agreed on our favorite house.

Meanwhile, it was Adorable Jonathon's birthday weekend, and they celebrated at the TCU football game. Here's the link to #1's dress.

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, after 34 years of wedded bliss, the Mister and I are still experiencing firsts.  Yesterday goes down in history as being the first time that the Mister ever did all the Christmas decorating by himself!

And I didn't adjust one thing!

Which is also a first.

'Tis the season for hostess gifts.

This is always my favorite gift guide to write.

Love these!

Present it with flowers, and it will be a wrap-free gift!

A good price!

It's turtle time!

How cute is that sleigh!

Years ago, I lived in a subdivision where three of these platters were circulating.

And then there was only one.
No one admitted to breaking, packing, or hiding them.

Have I got a plot for you!!

Cookie cutters are always a good idea!

I have two of these pitchers and place one at each end of the table with sliced lemon and water when we entertain.

You don't even have to wrap it!

I have this pitcher, too.
You can include a recipe book for Bloody Marys and the hosts will love you forever.

I got a text from a pal who ordered two of these from my Monogram post, and she said they are stunning and arrived in four days.

I gave this tray to one of my friends, who always thinks of her dear departed Mom whenever she sees a cardinal.  She loved it.

You can't go wrong with a frame, especially if they are newly-minted grandparents!

This is one of my favorite hand creams, and it makes a great presentation because it comes in a pretty box.

Fun family gift!

The cook will appreciate a newly-released cookbook.

Any cat ladies in the house?

Another forced family fun gift.
This may not be a good gift if there is a sore loser in the bunch.
I'm trying my best to work on it.

I just stocked up on these adorable reusable gift bags.

On another note, if you saw my stories on Instagram yesterday, you know that my favorite bedding store, Boll and Branch upped my discount code PREPPY25 to 25% off.  This is the best deal of the year.

There are several reasons why I love Boll and Branch.  The sheets get softer with every wash; they are 100% organic cotton, have deep pockets, and don't shrink.

Boll and Branch makes the perfect gift for the special people in your life who are hard to buy for.  Both of my girls have Boll and Branch on their holiday wish lists.

Check out all the fabulous things that Boll and Branch has to offer.  And don't forget to use my code PREPPY25  for 25% off.

Need more gift ideas?  Here's my Monogram post.

  3. Beautiful house, looks like a museum. Never thought about doing house tours, although when in college our criminal law class did a tour of McNeal Island Penitentiary years ago. Prison tours are the best, lets you see how the other half lives.

  6. Number 1 and Lucy both look adorable in their TCU colored dresses. I was out of town otherwise I would have gone on the Lakewood Home Tour. Sounds like a fun afternoon for all of you. Great gift ideas...one of my sons would like the puzzle and the cookbooks.

  7. Absolutely love your humor Katie! We’d be good friends if I still lived in Dallas! We also just had our first grandchild this year, Liam (10 months) ~ mommy and daddy are in Dallas. (Isn’t the grandparent thing the absolute best?!?) We were down there this past weekend celebrating a family birthday… at Hudson House… and honestly I think we were in that exact same booth. Too funny! Love your blog! Xoxo Alice
