ReplyDeleteGreat list! You should consider coming in April to the Hamptons Whodunit! (Hamptonswhodunit.org) We had Liz Nugent and Lisa Jewell amongst others last year and we have a great list this year. My fave book of the 2023 was The Running Grave. Love JK Rowling!
ReplyDeleteOMG... Carrie, that sounds like so much fun. I can't think of a better place than the Hamptons for a whodunit! Thanks for the rec.

DeleteMy aunt asked me for recommendations last week, and I sent her many that you have on your list! I am going to share this post with her… I’m sure she will find many to put on her TBR list, as I already have. All of your favorites here were my favorites too so I just cannot add to it.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike, Jennibell! Enjoy your Sunday and I hope your Aunt enjoys the books!
DeleteKatie, I gave 4 stars to Remarkably Bright Creatures, Strange Sally Diamond, and Hello Beautiful. I gave 3 stars to Little Monsters and None of This is True. The other books you mentioned will have to go on my To Be Read list. The 5 star books that I read in 2023 were Absolution by Alice McDermott, Horse by Geraldine Brooks, The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters, Last Summer on State Street by Toya Wolfe, Beyond That the Sea by Laura Spense-Ash, Take my Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez, and Crow Lake by Mary Lawson. I am not one to give 5 stars readily, but all of these books were excellent. There are so many books to read and so little time! Kim
ReplyDeleteHello Kim! You are exactly the reason that I miss being in a book club. When I go out with my friend, Jude, of @heyjudereads, I bring a list of some books that we disagreed on. I love to hear what she saw in a book that I didn't. Thanks so much for your input. Have a wonderful Sunday.
DeleteMy favorite from last year was West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge. My book club is reading The Orphan Collector right now; not on my best book list but book clubs get one to step out of their box.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. I listened to West With Giraffes awhile ago and enjoyed it. Have a great Sunday.
DeleteMy favorites from last year were Lessons in Chemistry and the outstanding Audible of West With Giraffes.
ReplyDeleteThere's 2 for West For Giraffes!! Have a great Sunday, Valla.
