The Friday Files

Hello, dear friends.  Baby, it's cold outside.  We had quite a storm on Wednesday, and we have yet to recover.  The roads are covered in ice, and it doesn't look like it's going to warm up anytime soon.

The only one in the family who enjoys the snow is Millie.  It is her first time experiencing it.  She likes to go out every ten minutes to do her part by noshing on it.  Getting up out of my chair to open the door is the extent of my cardio.

Hellooooo Hotlanta!

Click here to continue the tour of this stunning French Normandy-style home.

Feast your eyes on this gorgeous Connecticut home that features a champagne tasting room.

You can find this magnificent coastal home in one of my favorite towns, Newport, RI.

I have heard from many of my readers that they enjoy seeing the old houses for sale.

This one's for you.

Attention, Illinois buds!!!

This diamond in the rough is in Princeton, IL!

Come on down KTG, Mo, and Jeanne!

Last but certainly not least, this one is for all the RHNJ fans out there.

I wouldn't waste my time getting a plate.
All I need is a spoon and a comfortable chair.

Today would be the perfect day for a dump-and-bake casserole.

Too bad I don't cook.

Do you need some Super Bowl snack inspo?

If you don't feel like making anything pick a couple of these up, serve with fancy hot mustard, place them on a pretty plate, and tell everyone that you made them.

That's my recipe for the day.

Do you follow James Farmer on Insta?

If not, you should.

Read about the fabulous birthday lunch he threw to honor three women in his family.

Note to self:  Send a reminder to James of my birthday.

Are you having trouble keeping your little peepers open at work? Here are some simple tips to help you get to sleep at night.

Or you can read one of my blog posts at night which will help you drift off.

Speaking of dozing

Do you notice anything odd about this photo?

This threesome is lending its star power to a new series on Apple TV based on one of my favorite books.

I'll give you a hint.

I just finished listening to this book, and I enjoyed it very much.
What a wild story!

They are making the book into a movie, and guess who is playing the lead?
Julia Garner from Ozark.
Here's the lowdown of Julia's visit with Anna in prison.

This is an intriguing article about Margaret Wise Brown, who wrote this children's classic.

Southerners have a whole different way of expressing themselves regarding snow.

Check out this new designer line.

I was delighted to be mentioned on This Blonde's Shopping Bag reel on Instagram this week.  Karen has great deals, and she is so fun to watch.  She also has a blog.  Stop over to say hello at This Blonde's Shopping Bag.  I have put her on my blog roll so that you can enjoy her latest posts.

Stay warm and safe!

Until next time...

I mentioned this on Insta.
Great sale!

Does she look miserable or what?
I bet she's hungry.

Darling!

Cute for a college student.

Sweet hostess gift!

All-Clad

My favorite scent!

I can't wait until I don't have to put these on anymore.

  4. Katie, I LOVE LOVE LOVE James Farmer! He is such an amazing designer. The houses are beautiful, I never knew that I need a champagne room! I read the article about the Goodnight Moon author too, so fascinating. Check out the Book In the Green Room, it is about her and her very interesting life. I read it and found her to be so interesting. There was a lot more to her childrens' book than people thought. As for the snacks!!!! Oh my goodness I love finger food and comfort food, all of these recipes look scrumptious.
Stay warm and enjoy your weekend.

  5. I've found some good books based on your recommendations. Alo, the link under Teresa Guidice's house goes to the older home in Illinois (LOL)! I'd love to tour Tre's house as that show is one of my guilty pleasures!

  7. A champagne tasting room!!! Love the cardinal in the snow ❤️ Yesterday it was 70 and we had tornadoes, today it's 37 and freezing, crazy Southern winter weather! I just ordered a silk pillowcase yesterday, can't wait to try it! Hope your ice and snow melts soon...

  9. I never heard of an 'ice dam' ( think that's what you called it?) until you posted about it from your house in Boston. I know the cold in Dallas is a BIG improvement from the ice and snow "up north"!

  10. Oh my goodness, so many good things here!! Thank you! I like that "old" house in Illinois. I would fight you for that casserole unless you let me split it with you! Yum! Have a great weekend, Katie!

  11. I really look forward to your Friday Files, Katie. You narrow down all of the chaos in my mind into relative order! Too much to mention here because as I said, chaos. Wondering--I tried to find a way to pin the gorgeous dishes you featured...am I missing anything?

    Happy Weekend!

  12. How fun to get a shout out! Love the historical reads. I did not see the image above the young man's head. And, the reindeer was added later?
Happy Saturday. We got snow earlier this week but I think it is warming up to the 30's. xo laura

  13. Millie is the cutest! Rick is headed to Dallas tomorrow. He's sad he'll be missing the snow here. But you never know -- could be fun down there, too!

  14. We have had one dusting of snow in Atlanta. I find it's a good time to go out because the Georgia natives go into shock and don't leave home. xo Laura

  15. A few months ago, I felt so depressed, I got frustrated with bad credits, but then I contacted HACK VANISH by phone: +1 (747) 293-8514 and email: HACK VANISH (@) GMAIL. COM. I found out about hack vanish services through positive reviews read on some credit blogs, in a blink of an eye this great hacker restored my credit score from 509 to 784 in all 3 major credit bureaus, they got removed evictions and foreclosures, my LexisNexis and Chex system was repaired respectively, a few days later I received an email confirming the approval of my mortgage loan, it was quite surprising because I never thought it was possible. Today, I can confidently say that 2021 was a banner year for my husband and I as we now own a new house and a new SUV courtesy of HACK VANISH, I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a genuine Hacker.
