Preppy Empty Nester

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my middle-aged years while entangled in the never-ending process of renovating an antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili.

Hello, I'm Katie

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020. We relocated to Dallas and have been spending our time searching for our Forever Home. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili. Today, would have been my mother's 97th birthday...the last time I was in the Copley Plaza was with my mother in January, 1986. We attended a bridal show, even though she wasn't totally convinced that I was actually going to be married that year. Beautiful photos of the family...yes, the children have heard the stories a million times, but get ready for a million more. Happy New Year.

Such a beautiful hotel. Hubby spent time there as his old home office was across the street. Love the sweet pooches!!
ReplyDeleteYou and Sistah are just gorgeous. Happy New Year, Katie! Blog on!
ReplyDeleteOn another subject, have you ever blogged about Mistah's weight loss and how he did it? No reason, of course, why weight loss is on my mind this time of year :)

ReplyDeleteOh, we love the Copley. We stayed there 3 years ago after we had done a cruise. And, I got my Grans one of Catie's books. It is such a gorgeous place but did not have a coffee pot in the room. A major issue for me. I want a cup of coffee as soon as my feet hit the floor and I don't want to pay $7.50 to have room service bring me a cup. :o)) But, I did! Blessings for this new year!
ReplyDeleteLove the Copley! Stayed there when our daughter moved to Boston 4 years ago!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good time was had by all! Isn't it amazing how the same family stories are the ones that the kids love to hear over and over again. In our family they also get a little bit better (read embellished) with every telling!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! What a fun celebration of #1's birthday!
ReplyDeleteDo I remember correctly that guests are invited to "borrow" Catie Copley for walks?
Your family is beautiful and such handsome nephews!!!!! Love those dinners with the kiddos when they hear the same stories and we all still laugh like we have never heard them before!! Happy New Year!!!
