Hostess Gifts

Hello dear friends.  I hope you are enjoying a great week.
Since many people are travelling during the summer, often staying with friends, I thought I would do a post on hostess gift ideas.

A box of luscious lavender is always a welcomed gift.

I love this basket because it can be put to good use during the visit.

This would be cute filled with fresh lemons.
Bed Bath & Beyond

I love to give pitchers and fill them with fresh flowers.  If you have to fly to see your friends, that probably wouldn't work.

Crate & Barrel

Mackenzie Childs placemats and coasters.

I love anything Kate Spade.  These placemats are darling.  My favorite would be Eat Cake for Breakfast.  Chowdah's would probably be Dance on the Table.

For the boaters?

Or shell seekers?

I think I may buy these for myself because I like my chardonnay so cold it causes a brain freeze.  These glasses are self chilling.  They have "dimples" that rest at the bottom of the glass and keeps the wine iced cold.

For the chef...

For the entertainer...

And if you want to make sure you will never be invited back, bring your

dirty laundry

or your

screaming kid!

What's your go-to hostess gift?

I'm checking out for the weekend today.  Evidently, Chowdah has something up his sleeve for tomorrow.  He keeps asking to use my computer.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. My Beagle, Lois, is right there dancing on the table with your Chowdah! As we said goodbye to our dinner guests, we looked back through the large windows to see what the three carloads of people saw as they drove away . . . Lois on the dining room table, finishing all the leftovers!!!
For myself, I like the salad boat!
    Happy Independence Day!

  5. I think my visitors this summer are going to bring me their dirty laundry and their screaming kids. The jar filled with fresh lemons would be nice to soothe the nerves. :)

  7. Those are such great gift. We usually bring over candy or baked goods in a crystal platter. They have something for now and later.

  8. I generally like hostess gifts that are consumable things (like the basket of goodies from William Sonoma) but those wine glasses that keep your wine chilled?!?!?! Brilliant! I am definitely going to get some of those, probably for myself!
