Hello, I'm Katie
I'm Katie. Welcome to my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020 and relocated to the Dallas suburbs and our forever home.
I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, shopping, decorating, Bravo, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my new little mischief-maker, thoroughly darling Millie. I love hearing from my wonderful readers.

DeleteHi Katie, can't wait to see Lady in Gold. Being a huge Helen Mirren fan, my husband and I went to NYC last week to see her in The Audience. I adored it, but must confess my Mister did not, and there were more than few chins (mostly of the husband kind) resting on chests before the final curtain. It is entirely dialogue driven, almost always just 2 sitting actors on the stage, and no scenery changes. Unless like me, you're an Anglophile and Mirrenphile, you might want to think about another show. My husband was such a great sport, though he did curiously return from the men's room with the smell of Guinness on his breath. Happy spring! Your friend as always, Cathy in NJ.
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy! The Audience sounds like my kind of show. I think the Mister would be resting his chin as well. It's amazing how a little Guiness can give a person a second wind. Enjoy your week, Cathy, and thank you for the comment!
DeleteThe movie sounds fantastic! It's on my list for sure. You know, Katie, everyone needs a little side business....we won't judge you based on a name ;) Happy weekend Lovely!

We planned to see Lady in Gold this weekend, but too much going on. Glad to know that you highly recommend it - because it wasn't highly rated by critics on RottenTomatoes.com, although the regular audience enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteWill my poor bulbs pop up before June?
Be sure that the roofers install the ice and water shield more than 3 feet up.
Thanks for the tip about the roofers, Paige. I passed on your comment to the Mister. Enjoy your Sunday!
DeleteYour house is soo pretty and happy to see that spring has sprung, over here albeit slowly. Today is gorgeous though and I have waited MONTHS for a day like this so no complaints:) I am so out of the movie loop so thank you for the recommendations.....looks fantastic! Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Katie! .......so funny with the dumpster. When we started construction and had our FIRST HONEYBUCKET;) it was the brunt of our jokes for awhile ~ and then it wasn't so funny anymore, ha.. Glad it's warming up for you finally!! Long winters are no fun. I need to see that Ryan Reynolds movie. I'm a fan:) xxL
ReplyDeleteI have to say that even before I saw your comment about the dumpster, I thought, "oh my!" Shaking up the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteI love Kristen Bell and this video is hilarious!! New Mary Poppins songs for me to learn and sing to baby Andy! ;-)
