This is a picture of one of my most precious material possessions. I inherited this charm bracelet when my Mom passed away from breast cancer ten years ago. Sista and I split the charms and I got to keep the bracelet. Thanks Sista. I also added some of my own charms.
This bracelet represents so many memories of my childhood. I would always know it was a Saturday night when my Mother would come downstairs dressed in a beautiful dress with fresh red lipstick on, all ready to hit the town or a cocktail party with my Dad. With her high heels clicking and her charm bracelet jingling, she would kiss my sister and me good night and wish our
I don't wear my charm bracelet very often. But I do wear it for special occasions that I know my Mother would have loved to have witnessed.
I started thinking about charm bracelets and how much I love mine. I don't see a lot of them around so I searched on line what was available. Here are a few that I found.
I've been cruising your blog and couldn't find a "follower" button. I would've joined up. Love the drapes and furniture in one of your recent posts, anything country french always catches my eye.
ReplyDeleteLove charm bracelets, particularly ones with special meaning. In fact, I started a tradition with my friends when the first one in our group was married in 2009. A simple charm bracelet with three charms - the maiden monogram with the bride's birthdate, the groom's monogram with his birthdate, and the new monogram with the wedding date. As the years go by, you are to add charms with special meaning - the birth of children, grandchildren, weddings, etc. I absolutely love wearing mine, and hope to pass it down to my children one day.
ReplyDeleteI have one too. The bracelet is from my mother. She had two. Mine came charmless when I graduated from college. Now I have just a few charms on it: my kappa key, charms for each of my children's birth, and the charm from my mom's bracelet with my birthday on it. I don't like prefab charm bracelets at all.
ReplyDeleteI have had a charm bracelet since I was a little girl. It's very full now with many wonderful memories! It's a great conversation starter. When my brother had his girls, I started one for each of them. One day I hope theirs is just as full!
