A Little Hodgepodge

Good morning, dear friends.  I am stepping out of my comfort zone today and joining some fellow bloggers over at From This Side of The Pond for a link party called Wednesday Hodgepodge.  My pals, Sandy from Chatty Crone (she's on a temporary break) and Lea from Cici's Corner usually participate and I always enjoy their answers.

1. Do you wear your heart on your sleeve, or keep your emotions tucked in tight?

I try my hardest to to put on a poker face when I am mad or upset, but to no avail.  The Mister and our girls and everyone else in the world can tell something is up within seconds of looking at my facial expression.

Not me.
Wish I looked this good.

2.  How did you meet your closest friend?

I met my closest friend the morning my parents brought her home from the hospital.  She is my Sista.

3.  Pink lemonade, grilled salmon, cotton candy, pink grapefruit, a strawberry milkshake, or raspberry sorbet... of the pink foods listed, which one is your favorite?  Which one have you most recently consumed?

This question reminds me of my #1.  When she was around 2 years old, she would only want to eat pink foods.  She was, and still is "all girl."

The last pink food that recently ate was frozen strawberries that I put in my morning shake.  I wish it was a milkshake.

4.  When were you last "tickled pink" over something?  Explain.

The last time I was "tickled pink" was when my girls were home over the holidays.

The moment that comes in a close second, is the weekend thatI spent with my Sista in Nantucket.

5.  Are you a fan of television talk shows?  Daytime, nightime, or both?  What's your favorite?

Am I a fan of television talk shows?  Is the Pope a Catholic?  I love television talk shows.  I grew up watching Mike Douglas every afternoon when I got home from school, and Merv Griffin in the evenings.

My current favorite talk shows include Ellen and Jimmy Fallon.

My very favorite talk show host is Andy Cohen of Watch What Happens Live.
Don't judge me.  I never told you I was deep.

6.  When was the last time you wanted to ask a question, but felt too foolish to do so?

It would have to be today and joining this link party.  Many of my favorite bloggers participate in these parties, so I wanted to try it.  Between you and me, I didn't know whether I could figure out how to do it or not.

7. My favorite ________________________ right now  is  ____________________.

My favorite season right now is summer

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I learned something about myself these past couple of weeks.  I can take as much snow as the Good Lord wants to throw my way as long as I have electricity.  And cable tv. And wine.  Lots of wine. And coffee.  And no meteorologists reporting minute-by-minute flake totals.

I'm relatively low maintenance.
How come the Mister can't see it?

Happy Hump Day!

  1. Welcome to The Hodgepodge! It's nice to have you join in the mid-week fun :)
I enjoyed reading your answers, and getting to 'know' you. About that snow...take heart, spring is just around the corner!

  2. Welcome to the Hodgepodge! So glad you joined in today. I think we have some things in common, as I'm also mom to two adorable daughters who look about the same age as your two adorable daughters. My oldest has also always been a big fan of pink. I'm going to add you to my reader. We haven't had as much snow as Mass. this year, but we've had plenty. I'm less than an hour outside of Manhattan (in NJ), but we're out in the countryside, and get a lot more snow than the city. Often it snows here and there will be none at hubs office, about a half hour in. It's pretty though! And I agree-give me electricity and I can deal with being housebound. Nice to 'meet' you!

  3. Chère Katie, you did well to take part to the Hodgepodge (a new word in my dictionary!!! Will I use it?). Interesting and funny answers as usual. Your relationship with your sister is great!

  5. Nice to meet you today through the Hodgepodge. I never heard of Mike Douglas but do remember The Merv Griffin show. We've had lots of snow here on Long Island and I'm still loving it :) It isn't as fun when you lose power though. Thankfully ours has stayed on.

  10. Do you remember when Kramer recreated the Merv Griffin set in his apartment and would interview his friends? That's what I think of now when I hear Merv's name.

    You did a great job!

  11. I love these kinds of posts! It is so great to get to "know" you a bit more. I too love television; that is probably why I don't have cable...I am not home much (ahem...teenagers), and when I am, I do not need to kill time sitting in front of the television. Now, granted, when we leave town and stay in a hotel, I have come to enjoy getting back to the room in time to swim and spend the late night watching Real Housewives of (insert city here) with my mom. She thinks they are all nuts, BTW. HGTV and A&E are some other favorites. My kids have even gotten hooked. I am such a bad influence on the old and young alike!

  13. "What was the pink food I most recently consumed?" Now that's the kind of low-pressure question I like to ponder.
I too watched Merv Griffin after school... and Perry Mason and Dark Shadows (when I was younger I think).

  15. So nice to meet you, thank you for stopping over. Yes Andy Cohen is my favorite! You are a no-reply so I wasn't able to answer your comment. I grew up in Illinois but have lived in California for 27 years so I know snow. Our son just moved to Pittsburgh and is having his first experience with it. I agree with you on having electricity, cable and lots of wine!

  16. Oh, Katie, so glad you jumped in and joined us today. You did a great job and with your usual humor. And, if we had snow like you do then I'd have to agree 100%, give me electricity and I could endure it. Happy rest of the week!

  17. Dark Shadows always scared me, but Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas were past favorites...good memories. Ellen and Jimmy Fallon are current favorites.

  20. Can you believe that more snow is coming?!?! I have no idea where we (and by we I mean those who are shoveling while I am holding the baby) are going to put it! As long as the electricity and cable stay on, though, I can be content watching our pal Andy On Demand. Stay safe and warm my friend! I will be in touch next week to make plans.
