Good evening, dear friends. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. The Mister and I got a lot of work done around the house, saw a pretty good movie, and went to a fabulous party.
It was the Mister's turn to choose the movie this week. I was less than enthused to see this one but put on my supermodel trophy wife smile, and buckled down for what I thought was going to be a long two hours.
I was pleasantly surprised by this film. It was extremely entertaining. I am barely old enough to remember the old TV show and I must say the writer and director did a great job keeping the theme and playfulness of the show in tact. There are a few reasons why I enjoyed The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
First and foremost, this handsome guy lit up the screen with his blue eyes, sophistication, and wry humor. By the way... I nominate Henry Cavill for the role of the next James Bond.
The scenery was breath taking.
And the costume design was stunning. The 60's never looked so good.

I am so excited to hit the theaters for these September releases.
I have loved everything that Nancy Meyers has had her hand in, and this one looks like a true winner.
I admit to having a life long crush on Robert Redford and I love him even more because he is one of the few mature actors that has not had a dreadful face lift. I'll be first in line to see this one. By the way, I don't think Nick Nolte had any work done, either.
amazon My buddy, Anne, recommended this book to me. I am now smack dab in the middle of it and enjoying every word. It centers around a murder at Harvard and keeps you guessing with every page. This is as close as I'll ever get to Hahvahd.
If you loved Me Before You as much as I did, you will be as excited to read the sequel as I am, which will be released at the end of September. If you would would like to read the first chapter, you can find it here. I will be on location the next couple of days in search of ground breaking blog material.
Until next time...

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Feel free to contact me through comments and email. I love to hear from my readers!
My husband, and I, went to The Man From Uncle and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am sad to see that it's not doing well at the box office, because that means that there won't be a follow-up.
Looking forward to seeing The Man From UNCLE and The Intern when it comes out. Glad to hear the first one is worth it. I admire RR for not caving into plastic surgery too. As for Nick, I sent my daughter a selfie once after a run (using that term loosely) and she said I looked like his mug shot! Have fun on location!!
Three movies on my must-see list! I'm especially excited about The Intern. I have loved everything the very talented Nancy Meyers has done, including my very favorite movie Baby Boom. I can't wait to read about what you find on location!
I debated between The from UNCLE and Mission Impossible (my husband doesn't know he could have a say), and RottenTomatoes ratings convinced me to see MI, which we enjoyed. After your endorsement, we'll have to see The Man from UNCLE too. Robert Redford's au naturel face does not bother me, but his faux hair does. I heard that Nick Nolte had to have a hip replacement after making that movie.
I'm Katie. Welcome to my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020 and relocated to the Dallas suburbs and our forever home.
I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, shopping, decorating, Bravo, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my new little mischief-maker, thoroughly darling Millie. I love hearing from my wonderful readers.
