A Book And A Movie

Happy Sunday, dear friends.  I hope that you are enjoying your weekend.  Just checking in quickly with a couple of reviews.

My take on Taken 3 is that it was much better than Taken 2, and not quite as good as the original Taken.

The End.

I read Winter Street over Christmas.  It is a great story about a semi-dysfunctional, endearing family that owns an inn in Nantucket.  It's a short book chock full of  angst and humor.  I enjoyed it tremendously.

Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorite authors.  I am so excited because Sista and I will be meeting her next weekend in Nantucket.  I'll give you the whole scoop when we get back.

If you love celebrities like I love celebrities, tonight is a big night for us!!  My favorite award ceremony is on with my favorite hosts.

Oh yeah, and if you like sports, I think football is on too.

I haven't seen a lot of movies nominated this year.   But I did see this one and I am routing for Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything.

He stole my heart.

Stay Warm!

  1. Your take on Taken 3 was spot on and very efficient..'nuff said. Even though I work in an academic setting, I don't get to read many books during the school year that are of my choice...so you had me at "short book", now loading onto Kindle, thanks...as far as football had my share yesterday...had to leave the room as Ravens were leading, then Patriots tie and in the end it's the Patriots...either way I am a winner....live in the land of the Raven, but born a Patriot...all is good.

Can't wait for your commentary on the Globes...

  2. Good morning! Another Taken? Geez....I loved the first one not the second one and will see this one, since my husband loves that genre of movie, had not idea another had come out.
The book sounds so funny and right up my alley, definitely ordering it today. And wouldn't' miss all the GG action tonight, the pre show is the best!!
Enjoy your day and happy TV watching.

  5. My throat is still sore from the screaming going on yesterday! Actually had to close the sliders so people wouldn't think someone wasn't trying to kill me. I'm actually more vocal than my husband watching. Go Pats cause I'm too old to keep going through this.

  9. Well I saw the first Taken but not number 2. The first one gave me nightmares about the possibility of this happening so I just skipped the second! Love Elin Hilderband and cannot wait to hear about your meeting! Hope you have a great week.

  10. I'm pretty sure that we will skip Taken 3 but we did see The Imitation Game on your recommendation and LOVED it. I also loved watching the Golden Globes last night. The line of the evening by the uber-talented duo of Amy & Tina was the one about Amal's accomplishments and her husband getting the Lifetime Achievement Award. I can't wait to hear about meeting Elin Hilderbrand! I know that you and Sista will give a very complete, fully documented report!
