Book Club

Last week, my book club met for the first time since May.  The book we were discussing was:

I have a confession.  I didn't read the book.  Didn't even buy the book.  It's all your fault.  I used to read at least two hours a day.  Ask my family.  Now what do I do with my time, you ask?  I write to you and I'm loving every minute of it.

So I went to the lunch anyway because the group feels "it's not all about the book."  My friend, who I will refer to as "hostess with the mostess" or HWTM , just wowed us as always with a great luncheon.

As I entered HWTM's home I was greeted by this adorable creature at the stairway.

The kitchen island looked like a picture from a magazine.  The haunted house in the foreground was made of cheese nips, m&m's, malted milk balls, and lots of other treats which was constructed incidentally by who else but... HWTM and her adorable daughters!

Every inch of HWTM's beautiful home held a glimmer of Halloween spirit.

This is a beautiful fireplace in the kitchen.  Mister - I promise I will learn how to cook if you give me one of these beauties!

HWTM served the most delicious pumpkin soup with chunks of apple in these adorable pumpkin cups.  Those cups were filled more than once by all of us!

Chunky, yummy chicken salad nestled in these delicate bibb lettuce cups.  3 words... to die for.

Positively the best goat cheese toasts ever!  Only HWTM would think to serve them next to her MacKenzie Childs container of  halloween treats.  Could it get any cuter?

I'm not sure I like HWTM anymore....

Last but not least... these adorable cupcakes with m&m "eyes" served in the "spider" holders.  Not only were they so cute they were incredibly delicious...

Now, I know I don't like her....

Only kidding, HWTM, thank you for a most enjoyable luncheon in your beautiful home.

Our next book pick is:

Anybody got the Cliff notes?
Kidding!

Hope your Tuesday is filled with wonderful surprises!

  1. Wow-your book club looks like it's as much fun as mine! I really enjoyed "Wild," but I have to say that I hope it's all true. Do take time to read it; you'll be glad you did.
