Hello, I'm Katie
I'm Katie. Welcome to my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020 and relocated to the Dallas suburbs and our forever home.
I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, shopping, decorating, Bravo, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my new little mischief-maker, thoroughly darling Millie. I love hearing from my wonderful readers.

Have fun at the Christmas fest! Whatever Happened to Baby Jane is scary and creepy. Reminds me of the Tuesday night tv show Thriller, with Boris Karloff (or was it Vincent Price?). Very scary and we loved it!
ReplyDeleteLove Baby Jane!! When you post local events, I really miss being home in Boston/Cape!! Have fun and Happy Halloween
ReplyDeleteOh mercy! Betty Davis! She was just a scary person to me anyway. I always love your posts and pics. Your sense of humor is terrific! I'm going to have to share that last pic on Facebook today.
ReplyDeleteI said Thriller too. Love the dog ghosts in the last picture!! lol
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to all the Christmas craft fairs. For craft lovers it is the best time of the year.
ReplyDeleteThe head in an elephant's mouth totally made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI had down Thriller too & changed it - thats just a classic. Everyone knows the moves!
I don't like to be scared, so I rarely watch scary movies! I'm a scaredy cat!
ReplyDeleteI often wish I could read your post before answering my own. You have the most comical take on them where I tend to take the more serious approach. Never tire of reading your blog. We are expecting storms here so Trick or Treat has been moved to Thursday. Since it's my birthday, I'm thinking of not turning on the outside light and enjoy my TV dinner without interruption. Besides the candy can be my desert.
ReplyDeleteMy sister is visiting from TN. We just watched The Strangers with Liv Tyler.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your fav scary movie? Happy Halloween Day! laura
I picked thriller too! Your picture of the elephant cracked me up and I am totally with you - no haunted houses for me!!!! Enjoy that day off!!
ReplyDeleteYour answers were lovely. I found myself answering all of the above to the questions so guess I'm just a split personality.
ReplyDeleteOh I remember seeing that movie years and years ago...super creepy...and yes, the makeup as well. Enjoy you time at the Christmas Fest!
ReplyDeleteI want to be the smart crime solver too, but I think I would like to try staying in a haunted house! I know nothing would happen!
ReplyDeleteI am getting excited for Christmas too - how fun to be off to a Christmas Fest already!
Our weather turned a little cold just for tonight - drop of 20 degrees - yuck!
Happy Halloween,
ReplyDeleteI am getting excited for Christmas too. :-) Have fun!
Oh Thriller! Great choice!
ReplyDeleteMy son enjoys Whatever Happened to Baby Jane too! I do not think I have seen it. I enjoyed your answers!
Happy Halloween!

Hi Katie! I'm better at reading scary books than watching scary movies. I'm usually hiding behind my hair or a pillow, or better yet, not even in the room!-Jenn
ReplyDeleteGlad it is pretty there! It is raining here for Halloween night. I delivered goodie bags to all the littles in my neighborhood. Now have the lights turned off for what I hope is a quiet evening. Sadie doesn't much like Halloween night. Just heard a dozen older kids out in the street trick or treating. Pouring rain, but hey, they are having fun.
ReplyDeleteI just watched "...Baby Jane" a few days ago! Bette Davis is horrific, for sure! Thanks for the giggles and thanks for joining in on this week's Medley!! I always enjoy your posts! Have fun at the Christmas Fest!! We have an Art Crawl on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI know it's only Halloween but I am so ready for Christmas! I've been listening to Christmas music, watching movies... sigh. Have a great time at Christmas Fest!
ReplyDeleteLoved your responses! I remember watching What Ever Happened to Baby Jane repeatedly, by far one the scariest movies I’d ever seen. I do enjoy spooky movies and am currently watching Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. I must admit that movies like Baby Jane are much more frightening because they show the very hreL horror within the human psyche whereas supernatural movies I can rationalize and dismiss as ‘pretend’.
ReplyDeleteI love scary books, movies and rides! You're never too old for a good roller coaster or horror movie - and my husband feels the same way.
ReplyDeleteI hate scary things, books, movies, tv. I have seen Whatever Happened to Baby JAne, you are right the make-up is creepy.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the Christmas fest!
I am so glad to be past Halloween, but you brought up some really good ones in this. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane - Bette Davis scared the bejeebers out of me with that one (and that trailer was epic! so was her solo of "I've written a letter to daddy").
ReplyDeleteHave a great outing on Friday....I cannot lie, Christmas is my favorite holiday! I also cannot lie about doing the Thriller dance at my daughter's Oct 26 wedding in 2013. :D
I'm back and glad to see you have a new version of Hodgepodge in the Wednesday medley! Onward to Thanksgiving and catching up on posting!
