Hello, dear friends. I hope you all had a good week. Last weekend, I got great news. My friend, Tina, from The Enchanted Home dropped me an e-mail telling me that I won the beautiful silver pitcher that she featured in her give away. For years, I have been entering raffles on her site and never won. You know how much I love pitchers, and this one is a beauty. Tina has them in her shop if you're interested in treating yourself.
Yesterday, I spent a delightful, very warm day strolling around Beacon Hill taking in the magnificent gardens and window boxes. I took lots of pics that I will share with you later this weekend.

Both homes on our home tour this week are in the picturesque town of Greenwich, Connecticut, where I attended high school.
In case you're wondering, the house also has an outdoor pool, as well.
A stunning wine cellar, otherwise known as Mommy's time out room is also featured.
And what's a house without a chess set?

Do you love pot racks like I love pot racks?
Love this great entry.

Here's a list of 50 big and little things that you need to get rid of.
I am guilty of hoarding about 40 of them.

I'm reading The Mother's Promise now.
It is a sad story that I hope will have a happy ending.
In any case, I can't put it down.

If I'm speaking with a brogue these days it is because I am listening to Jackie's Girl on audible. Kathy McKeon, a seventeen-year-old, fresh off the boat from Ireland, worked as Jackie Kennedy's assistant for seven years. No Jackie-bashing in this tell-all. Just a bird's eye view into the life of a charming, funny, generous woman who also happened to be a world icon.
This is a good one.

I have a few parties coming up within the next couple of weeks. I picked up a couple of these tin utensil holders at my beloved Homegoods.
I placed a couple of plants in it, attached my gift card with a bow, and called it a day.
That's the extent of my craftiness.
Have a great weekend!
Until next time...
Goodie, goodie, goodie! I'm so happy you won that gorgeous silver pitcher. Tina has the most wonderful giveaway chances. It's fun to know a winner! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove you cute gift idea. I need to make a trip to HG. None are on the beaten path, so I have to plan an excursion.
Love the home tours and the Nantucket notes. Wish I were heading out to my favorite island. Hope you get to ferry over for a visit. Enjoy the weekend!
You find the best things online and in the stores! Having parties huh...sounds fun! Can't wait to get settled and do the same.
ReplyDeleteGreat Friday Files. LOVE that hostess gift idea. Have a good weekend! - Julie
ReplyDeleteKatie, the book about Mrs. Kennedy is on my must read list. I also have The Art of Southern Charm that I will probably read this weekend. I enjoyed the 50 things to get rid of today. I have already taken care of two recommendations. We recently bought a new mattress. I also started writing a journal about a week ago. The journal has brought me so much pleasure. So that is two of the fifty. I am on my way. As always, I enjoy your posts. Have a wonderful weekend...Maxine
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest hostess gift you put together...I always get the best ideas from you! I read about the Jackie's girl somewhere and it sounded so good. Those cocktails look wonderful! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this very much! I'm so happy to be looking at retirement instead of finding a job. Makes me tired just thinking about job hunting. Very cute idea for a hostess gift!!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post- I kept getting side-tracked by your links and almost forgot to come back and say Hi! That silver pitcher is absolutely gorgeous...You lucky, lucky girl, you! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteStunning silver pitcher! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the houses you share every week. Amazing.
Sweet hostess gifts!
Congrats on winning!! Those houses are unbelievably beautiful, especially in that picture from the front gate. Have a lovely weekend! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteIm going to have to go with the architectural window in the bedroom for my fav off your list. Nothing is as cool as repurposing a building instead of letting it go to ruins. My hubby seriously considered buying a church (2x) as our home. Now I wish I had been a little more on board. Darn, I hate it when he is right!-Laurel Bledsoe
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post, full of links I just had my morning coffee over. Just think...if we owned one of those great houses (and likely employed the housekeeper that goes with it), we could hoard all that list of 50 things and more, while sipping our summer drinks by the pool. The hardest decisions would be which drink and which pool - indoor or out! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLucky girl katie, love the pitcher! So much inspiration in this packed full house gorgeousness! Love touring through your blog post. I love the ease of your DIY, the only way I attempt DIY these days! Have a great weekend.......
ReplyDeleteAs always, wonderful fun here. Must read the Jackie's Girl book. Sounds great!
ReplyDeleteSuch a huge collection of loveliness! Going back up now to click and pin! Hope you have a happy weekend. Rain here. Hair already frizzing.
ReplyDeleteI went through the list of 50 things and I do have a few of those I could part with! Love your utensil / plant holder, cute idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post and as someone else said, lots of lovliness! Now, going to check out some of your links.
ReplyDeleteWow, sign me up for a Mommy's room like that! Psst...I grew up in New Canaan!
