Preppy Empty Nester

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my middle-aged years while entangled in the never-ending process of renovating an antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili.

Hello, I'm Katie

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020. We relocated to Dallas and have been spending our time searching for our Forever Home. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili. Kerry's dress was my favorite too! She always looks spectacular! Michelle Dockery's a close second, especially now that Downton Abbey is back on.;)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you...Meryl's glasses are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI think Michelle Dockery looks beautifully serene and I loved Cate Blanchett's dress too :) Diane Keaton always looks so amazingly cool...I'd love to meet her!
Just found your blog via Leslie @ trouverlesoleil...pop by if you have time.

I loved Cate Blanchett's dress...and always love Diane Keaton. Thanks for sharing your take on the evening! Hope you are having a lovely day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved loved loved Cate's Armani. Flawless X10.
ReplyDeleteLoved Diane Keaton too.
Fun post! I loved Cates dress the most...she was the picture of elegance and grace. Ditto Kerry W. I loved this post, we must have been channeling each other last night as we have similar posts and I watched it from 5pm on in my pjs...the best!
ReplyDeleteLoved Amy and Tina...they kept me laughing the entire night!
So happy we watched it "together". Kate Blanchet hands down fav. Blue Jasmine is amazing if you haven't seen it and my cousin's son played her son in the movie.
ReplyDeleteKatie,
ReplyDeleteso fun watching the globes with you, even if you didn't share the wine! Our tastes are pretty similar. Kerry W was my favorite also. She always looks so classic and elegant. Wouldn't it be fun to be best friends with Diane!

Perfect call on the gowns and the need for a sandwich:). I hope I can look half a cool as Diane Keaton when I'm her age.
ReplyDeleteFun..Fun..Fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteTina and Amy were flawless from their jokes all the way to their dresses. I hope they sign a lifetime contract to host The Golden Globes. Oh, let's just go ahead and crown them the queens of ALL award shows! I love the way Diane Keaton artfully covers up her neck and hands - the two areas that show age before anything else. Reminds me of my friend Ellie's mom's words of wisdom: Whatever you do to your face, do to your neck.
ReplyDeleteUgh…. definitely not a pepto person either. It's like poison!
ReplyDeleteKerry Washington. I can't. She is flawless and perfection. You know her baby is going to be the next Gerber.
And the color of Amy Adam's dress? I'm told "I'm a wintah" so I kinda love it.
By far though, Diane Keaton wins for me.
And, Katie, you stole my heart!
Love your sweet blog and positive outlook that you bring to each of your posts. You clearly have such joy in your life.
Love you!
