Movie Review

This is our first official "empty nester" weekend since #2 fled the nest.  The Mister and I are still trying to find our footing.  Kind of strange.  The house is quiet and clean.  All pillows on my couch are still neatly arranged and there are no crumbs on the counter tops.
The Mister and I are nicer more considerate of each other. We both know we feel the emptiness and yet, we don't want to talk about it because then it will validate the realness of it.

When we get into the car, one of us will suggest calling one of our girls.  It's a great time to talk to them on the speaker.  Most often then not they don't answer.  That's okay.  They're having fun - or better yet - studying.

Enough about me.  On with the movie review.  I'm going to let you guess who picked this one out.

Following a mysterious explosion in a busy London market, the police swoop, a suspect is detained, and the country prepares for one of the most high-profile trials in British legal history. Two exceptional lawyers with a romantic history step into a dangerous web of secrets and lies, and when evidence points to a British Secret Service cover up, it's not just their reputations, but their lives that are at stake.

I was not expecting to enjoy this movie.  I was wrong.  It was a very fast-moving film with a great plot and a romance with a tease intricately laced into the "meat" of the storyline.

It didn't hurt that this handsome devil, Eric Bana, who played Henry VIII in The Other Boleyn Girl was the leading man.  He was so good, I may have to rent The Other Boleyn Girl again.

Rebecca Hall did a wonderful job playing the leading lady.  I loved her British accent and gorgeous ivory skin. In my next life I want to come back as her.

Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall sizzled with great chemistry which helped to create a very entertaining movie.

The Mister gave this movie an A.  I gave it an A- only because I couldn't figure out what was going on the first forty minutes of the movie.  It takes me a while to catch on.

Happy Labor Day again!

HELLO THERE MY DEAR! I haven't watched a movie in a while, but this sounds wonderful! Since this summer as my husband and I took a poetry writing class and now preparing for school, movie nights are rare! But soon as the pace gets more regular, I think I shall take a look at this one!

Thank you for coming to visit and leaving a comment. It's always nice to know someone cares enough to say "BONJOUR."

Have a lovely new week of fluffing up your nest. It's not empty, it's just rearranged. Anita

  4. I was just thinking a movie sounds perfect this afternoon and this sounds perfect. I'll see if we can rent it! I really enjoyed The Other Boleyn Girl too:) On the empty nest thing.. I totally understand where you're at. Stay busy and when you and your husband have a quiet..lull get out and do something:) It's all good and you two will get in a grove in time.

    Enjoy the day Katie! xxleslie

  5. Haven't heard of this one, but will check it out. Went to see The Butler at your recommendation, and loved it until it turned into an advertisement for B Obama at the end. Couldn't believe there was not one word of the Bush admins or Clinton.

  6. What is it with English girls and their skin. I'm half English. How come my skin never looked like that. :)

  7. Had to comment on the call to the girls.....girl you are delusional they see our name on the phone and push INGNORE! Trust me a few days without hearing from you your phone will be ringing off the hook.
