An Unconventional Thanksgiving

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Ours was made up of scrumptious food and plenty of laughs. The Mister and I agreed that this was our best Thanksgiving ever.

For being fairly conservative folks, we do have a wild side.  And it is unleashed on Thanksgiving Day.  For thirty-one years of marital bliss, we have never had turkey for Thanksgiving dinner at home.  When the girls were little, we told them that they could choose the menu.  The key to this was they had to agree on the meal.  It was usually the agreeing part that caused the most problems.

50+ Gifts Under 50 Bucks/Take 2

Dear friends... If you are looking for Part 2, you found it!

And if you're looking for Part 1, it's right here

Before we get started, here's a couple of pics from the kitchen during meal prep.

50+ Gifts Under 50 Bucks/Take 1

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving.  Ours was delightful and I can't wait to tell you all about it.  The post will be published at the beginning of next week.

I am writing this on Wednesday while sitting in the kitchen watching the Mister perform his magic in preparation for tomorrow's feast.

My job is done.

I set the table.

Now, I'm exhausted.

Gosh darn it, I knew I shouldn't have pushed myself.

Gizmos & Gadgets/Take 2

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you had a good weekend.  I'm happy to report that we got a lot accomplished and had some fun along the way.

We also had a lot of fun!
Millie had her first playdate with our friend, Kim's handsome doodle, Bo.
She looks like she is smiling in this pic.

Gizmos & Gadgets/Take 1

Hello, dear friends.  This week just flew by. I've been cleaning out the junk room for the past couple of days to make way for my office.  This brings me to the question of the day.

I have numerous bins of the girls' artwork, report cards, projects, etc.  I asked my daughters if they wanted it, and they were not interested in all the priceless memorabilia.  They also live in apartments, so space is a precious commodity.   At what point can I ditch the stuff without being looked upon as a terrible mother?

Btw... If you suggest that I make separate scrapbooks for each girl you, are not my friend anymore.

Today's post began as one but has turned into two because I had so much fun doing the research.  I am married to a gadget guy.  The Mister is like a little kid opening his Christmas gifts.  He totally ignores all the shirt boxes and goes straight for the oddly-shaped ones hoping it is a "toy."

Books & Board Games.

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you enjoyed your weekend. Mine started off with a bang.

On Friday, I met my friend, Miss Debbie, at 'Neath The Wreath, my first Christmas Market of the season.  We used to attend these fabulous events during my first stint in Texas.  Not to worry... I took a few photos for your viewing pleasure.

We met the cutest mother/daughter team.  Eris, the daughter, is a jewelry designer out of Baton Rouge.  Her Mom is her #1 helper at all of her shows.

Aren't these earrings darling?
Take a look at Eris' website.
She has lovely necklaces and bracelets, as well.

Blue & White Gifts for Her

Hello, dear friends.  How was your weekend?  Mine was a lot of fun.  Saturday, I spent most of the day at Northpark Mall for a little lunch and shopping with my #2.  I crossed off a few things on my Christmas list.  I only have a couple of items to pick up for myself, and then I can start shopping for the rest of the family.

Door Decor & More

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend.  Did you get a lot of trick-or-treaters?  It was kind of quiet around our house.

I reminisce every Halloween about the good old days of taking the girls trick-or-treating when they were very young.  It was my favorite time because they only wanted to go to a few houses.  The best part of it was that they totally forgot about the candy the next day.

Jackpot.

But then, in the later years, my little angels would have screaming, knockdown fights over the coveted M&M's and Reese's Peanutbutter Cups while turning their noses up to the rejects otherwise known as Mounds and Payday.
