Both!!
As you can see, we always dress for the occasion.
Both!
Any meal that includes wine.
I can think of about ten books that I truly enjoyed.
I read Beach Music about 15 years ago, and it was the first book that came to mind.
Amazon
Another one worth mentioning is The Art of Racing in the Rain which I read about ten years ago, and I still think about it.
I've given both books as gifts to friends.
7. Game night: yes or no?
Let me put it this way. When I participated in the neighborhood Bunco night in McKinney, my least favorite part of the evening was playing the game.
Boy, do I ever miss those days!
8. Favorite game to play outside?
I like to do laps in our pool.
9. Favorite TV series ever?
A 3-way tie.
10. Sitcoms growing up or today?
My all-time faves.
11. Miniature golf or bowling?
12. Favorite movie theatre candy?
When we go to our local theater, we both order these ice cream sandwiches. A lot of times I like my snack better than the flick.
13. How do you like your popcorn?
I am not a fan of movie theater popcorn.
I do enjoy this Smart Food Sea Salt popcorn with a side of chardonnay.
14. 3D movies with the glasses - yes or no?
Sun & Sand Resort
Not so much.
Too much work.
15. Favorite genre of books to read?
Oh Katie, I was ugly crying over Call the Midwife last weekend and last night's episode brought tears again. It is one of my favorite tv shows.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I didn't think of Bunco! I played for years upon years. It's really the best girlfriend time for laughing and no deep thinking.
ReplyDeleteAdding Music to my list.
You give me giggles and goodness. Ice cream sandwiches at the movies, heck I’ll go to a Mr. chosen flick just for those. Hope your week gets off to a sweet start!!! xo
ReplyDeleteI glad you reminded me of the book The Art of Racing in the Rain. I am adding that to my list to read when I get some time. I don't watch much TV...Hubby controls the remote. Yuk! I really need to take that thing back and watch something good for a change.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Katie.
My favorite reads are historical fiction, love to play Mah Jongg once a week with girlfriends, rarely go out to the movies anymore, Downtown Abbey is an all time favorite series, and we eat Vic half salt lite popcorn. Can't wait to see photos of your garden and the home tour.
ReplyDeleteI didn't care for The Tuscan Child but I absolutely LOVED That Month In Tuscany!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I quit watching Midwife two seasons ago and guess I need to rethink that decision and catch up. I loved it but grew weary with one of the seasons and decided to leave it. Please show us pics of your window boxes, it's so amazing to me that you have those and the labor that must be involved in caring for them but they are simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI know I can always come here for smiles! You are a true highlight to blogger land!
ReplyDeleteYour 3-way tie for TV shows would be mine too. I read Mrs. Kennedy and Me about a year ago and really enjoyed it. I'm not usually one to read bios or auto-bios. I enjoyed this post!!
ReplyDeleteI need to get Acorn tv so I can binge watch a Place to Call Home. Otherwise we share two of the favorite shows! I haven't read Beach House, so I plan to pick it up soon. I also loved Art of Racing in the Rain.
ReplyDeleteOops - beach Music!
DeleteI love this quiz--and was particularly glad for the book titles. I love to read--primarily fiction--and regardless of how intense it might be, I find it relaxing! I made note of the novels you listed and will be adding them to my list of books to look for!
ReplyDeleteYou have mentioned so many books that I haven't read! I need to check them out. I agree about any meal with wine! We read The Art of Racing In The Rain at book club last year. It was a good one. I miss The Office! This is Us is so good!
ReplyDeleteLOL to wine! How could I forget Seinfeld? Never a better sitcom.
ReplyDeleteOoo that Mrs. Kennedy and Me book looks really good! I prefer fiction, but I find myself often reading nonfiction when it has to do with the White House or Royal Family
ReplyDeleteI think we are much the same in reading...I can't tell how many books I've shot off to Amazon to buy after you recommended them.
ReplyDeleteWe never played board games with our children, but we are making up for it now. I'm also getting used to watching TV again.
I know I sound incredibly boring. I'll just come over and drink wine with you, and we'll do a few laps or so.
Jane
Yes to The Office!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that show!
It's so fun to get to know what makes a person tick. Your clock is wound up really well. :) I want to see the window boxes! It's always fun to see them in the early planting, then compare later once they fill out. Have a great week! Now that my cold is dying, I'm claiming high pollen as my reason for still not getting out in the garden. That, and island fever...as in, I want to be there instead. This muddy river outside my window with recent rains just isn't doing it for me....
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see your window boxes, they are always so pretty. I love seeing your favorite movies and books, I am unfamilair with a few of them so I will have to check them out on Amazon. As for my favorites, anything on PBS is a winner. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI recently finished watching "Seyret and Suri" a Turkish drama on Netflix. It is a historical fiction. If you don't mind subtitles, I highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteI just picked up Need to Know. It has rec'd raving reviews from well known authors.
ReplyDeleteWe could be besties! Yes, to your favorites. I now rely on you for reading suggestions. Thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteKaren
I cant wait to see the window boxes all A GLOW!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that your weekend planting came off with nary a hitch! Have you seen Alex, Inc.? It's a new-to-me sitcom starring Zach Braff. I think I like it. I'll keep you posted...
ReplyDeleteWhat fun today. Anytime we are working in yard it's work isn't it?
ReplyDelete1: I like comedy and drama and try to watch a mixture.
2: Fiction and non fiction. I can't pick a favorite.
3: Movies at Home for sure but once every blue moon I do like to go to the theater.
4: Musical
5: Lunch time
6: Redeeming Love
7: No on game night. By end of day I am gamed out. LOL!
8: Corn Hole
9: Call of the Heart
10: Happy Days, The Brady Bunch (from the 70's)
11: Bowling
12: Popcorn
13: With lots of butter
14: NO on the glasses
15: Anything by Terri Blackstock
Hope you have a good day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
I sobbed my way through Midwife last week. And I'm pretty sure I heard some manly choking back of tears and a might have seen a bit of eye-wiping from Rick (and he hasn't even seen all the episodes.) Musical, wine, Downton, good books -- you my kind of person!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I have been reading historical fiction and it is fascinating. I rarely go out to the movies or watch TV, I know that sounds strange, but I would rather read!
ReplyDeleteMy Chloe looked exactly like Chowdah this morning! Exactly! Okay I had two questions now i need go back up and remember what I was going to ask...oh 1. sounds like you should start a bunco (for the dice of course). We bought the house we own today after a bunco night and gossip are future house was on the market. Most expensive night of bunco ever! Is a Place to Call Home now or in the past? Happy Thursday Katie! It's 5pm where you are! laura
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for good books for my book group, so thank you for your recommendations.
ReplyDeleteOne of my most favorite books is All the Light You Cannot See. Enjoy the sunshine.
