Bountiful Brimfield

Hello, dear friends.  Last week, I met Sista at Brimfield Antiques and Collectibles Show in Brimfield, Massachusetts.  We have wanted to do this for awhile and this year it worked out.

For all of you Texans out there, Brimfield is like Round Top minus the new stuff.  It actually felt like Texas because it was 90 degrees.

It wasn't long before this knight in shining armor started flirting with me.  Mums the word to the Mister.

Anybody in the market for a 20-foot fish?

Or one that sings?

The Mister said that if he knew there was going to be cool stuff like this, he would have joined us.

The Mister would have loved this little piece of machinery in perfect condition, too.

Sista took home a few of these breadboards.

Here they are all settled in at Sista's house.

I'll take 40 of these, please.

Wouldn't this be cute cleaned up and painted white in a nursery?

I'm not quite sure what this is, but I do know it doesn't look comfortable.

Isn't this sweet?

Anybody in the market for a kelly green light fixture?

I wanted to buy one of these, put it in the backyard, and call it our guest house.  They were huuuuuuuge.

No shortage of these baskets in Brimfield or Chip and Joanna's place in Waco.

Shells aplenty.

Stunning silver.

Attention: Texas ladies!
This lovely lady is Anna, a direct importer of European Linens.  She is opening a shop in Tomball, called Abugardi Imports.

Anna has a beautiful assortment of fabric, pillows, and pillow covers.

And last, but not least,  I eyed a couple of these signs under a few people's arms.  I was sure not to get in their way.

Hope you have a great Sunday.

Until next time...

  1. I have always always wanted to go to Brimfield. I'm afraid I would lose every penny I had and fill my already-overflowing house with too much but I wouldn't mind trying! I love the things you photographed. The Hitchcock rocker would look great with my dining chairs and dry sink! And I had to laugh at the Billy Bass. I got one of those in a white elephant exchange eons ago. We put it on the floor to traumatize the cat and sure enough, every time Stimpy walked by, Billy would remind him not to "worry, be happy!"

  7. Love, love, love Brimfield. Didn't get there this year. A few years ago, as I wandered around, I kept running into a group of design people who were doing photo shoots. Sure enough, months later I recognized the things they photographed in Country Living Magazine. Silly me, I didn't buy any of the items at the time. Once they were in the magazine, the prices went thru the roof for these must have collectables & antiques. Hope you found some treasures!
