Turkey Platters

Hello, dear friends.  Happy Sunday.  It is a grey, dreary day here in Massachusetts.  Looks like it may be a movie day for the Mister and me.

I was shopping in Beantown and saw a couple of beautiful turkey platters that prompted this post.

  1. The Spode platters are some of my favorites. It would be so fun to have an entire collection of plates for Thanksgiving.

  2. Love them all the last one takes the cake:) I have ordered from Replacements before and am amazed at what they can research and find...about anything! We saw Steve Jobs yesterday, it was quite good if it interests you. Raining like mad here...great movie day!

  4. I love the first platter! I may just drive over to Replacements and purchase that one. Their showroom is only 15 miles from us, and you would LOVE it in there. Chili amd Chow could go too; they love dogs! Henry has been with me before.

  5. I have a vintage turkey platter that my mother-in-law gifted me when I took over the family Thanksgiving gathering. I love it. I am so excited for November. Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite holiday.

  9. I'm loving several of these and had no idea that you could find platters on Etsy. And, that last one, just too cute! I'm always smiling when I leave your posts.

  10. Hi Katie,

My sister-in-law has graciously hosted our family Thanksgiving. In an effort to show my appreciation for this I purchased a platter for her. As I was talking to my brother I mentioned the platter. He smiled and agreed it was a lovely platter even though it displayed a peacock in the center instead of a turkey. "It's the thought that counts, right?"

    1. You know what I would say to my bro, Bobbie? It's ALL GOOD! If I had a great last name like that, people would be so sick of me because I would not stop using that joke. PS I think peacocks are MUCH prettier than turkeys, anyway!

  11. One can't have too many platters, no?
You and my 93 year-old mom would hit it off. Popped into a shop with her the other day and she spied some Thanksgiving china. It was bedecked with turkeys. "Kel, would you like that set? Let's buy it." Took me ten minutes to calm her down and convince her that my three sets of china - good, everyday and my late grandmother's - was about all I could wash, I mean handle.

  12. And, Katie, Replacements, Ltd., is about 30 minutes away from where I live. The store is huge - which means it is chock-full of wonder! If you ever get down here to North Carolina, let me know and I will make sure it is on the itinerary and provide a guided tour of some really great shopping destinations!

    Warm regards,
    Deborah

  13. I have my great grandmother's turkey platter and took a photo of it to taunt my cousins & sisters on social media, whereby the God of Bad Intentions caused me to drop it and break it. My husband, in an attempt to make me feel better, bought one for me for the following Christmas (possibly from Replacements). It was about 1/4 the size of the original. He had NO IDEA that "Turkey Platter" wasn't a standard size. I think I'll keep him anyway.
