Preppy Empty Nester

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my middle-aged years while entangled in the never-ending process of renovating an antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili.

Hello, I'm Katie

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020. We relocated to Dallas and have been spending our time searching for our Forever Home. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili. Had no idea about the prison arts and crafts...going to check with my Kittery sister-in-law about a visit to the showroom on my next Maine visit. Pottery looked amazing...I am going to miss this beautiful summer also.
ReplyDeleteMy type of trip. Lots of cool shopping! How fun!

I just spent hours gazing upon the gorgeous photos of Damariscotta Pottery. After a few hours of sleep I'll have to check out the prison worker photos. Maine is full of fascinating spots for shopping!
ReplyDeleteI had to pin that dog, he looks like ours and ours should be wearing that costume, not just on Halloween but full time! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! Loved the first Maine blurb and this one. You'll laugh when you hear that our previous dog - Oscar the golden retriever - was dispatched to a prison. For training. An inmate looked after him for three weeks and did a wonderful job. Oscar, sweet lad, was stubborner than stubborn. His was my 13th dog and the first I ever had to send away to be trained. This prison program was brilliant. Unfortunately they no longer have funding and it has shut down.
ReplyDeleteCan we take a Maine roadtrip the next time I'm in town? Lobstah rolls and prisoner's crafts?!?!?! I'm in!!!
