Six Favorite Things

It's been awhile since I have posted my favorite things.   I may be repeating myself with some of them.  If I am, I beg your pardon and just do what my girls do when I tell them something for "hundredth time" -  roll your eyes, let out a deep sigh, shake your head, and whisper with a clenched jaw "not again" under your breath.

On with my favorite things.

My #2 introduced me to this rich, delicious cheap inexpensive body cream.  She has extremely dry skin and picked it up at Walmart on a whim.  I ran out of my body lotion and found this in her room after she left for college, and sampled some.  I fell in love with the richness of this delicious cream.
I have been using it on my deep crevices slightly weathered neck and I swear that the lines are not as apparent.
Full disclosure... I am 2 years overdue for my eye exam.

I have been eating these scrumptious breakfast sandwiches for the past couple of months.  They come in different flavors so if you have an aversion to sausage or ham, they also have an egg and pepper jack cheese.  I've sampled all of them and they are equally delectable.

The thing I like the most about these sandwiches is the fact that they keep me satisfied and full for a good 4 hours.  That is a fete in itself - Denny's Grand Slam only keeps me satisfied for only about 40 minutes.

I'm coming waaaay late to the party on this one.  KTG introduced me to this Internet radio station last Fall and I fell in love.  I have been using it during my sporadic workouts and also love to listen to my tunes as I write my blog!  Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Eva Cassidy is playing now.

I love the fact that you can put in your favorite artist and hear all of their songs as well as other artists of the same genre.  Let's just say that I have been spending a lot of time with Donna Summer, James Taylor, Cheryl Crowe, Jackson Browne, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Frank Sinatra and loving every minute of it!

And if you've known about this great new little addition to my life forever, just do what my girls do, and say "duh."

Another item that #2 turned me on to is this scrumptious salsa.   It is full of natural ingredients and tastes so fresh.  I serve it ice cold. I even put it on my Special K breakfast sandwich and I close my eyes and think I am in heaven.

For the price, these towelettes are the best bang for the buck.  Gives a great even tan without turning you orange.  No SPF though.

There are very few self-tanners that contain an SPF.  This one is easy to apply and does not smell (too bad) and doesn't turn you orange.  At least I don't think it does...

When women are asked what they would take if they were on a desert island, many say a moisturizer, suntan lotion, or a great waterproof mascara.  Not me.  My first choice would be lipstick.  I'm one of these mothers who used to show up at the bus stop with her kids and her hair looking like she walked through a tornado, mascara smeared down to her chin, jammie bottoms, but always lots of lipstick.

My favorite kind of lipstick is the type that stays on forever.  I have worn Lip Ink for about 10 years now, but have recently stepped out of my comfort zone and tried some new ones.  Nothing comes close as far as the color, durability, and the non-bleed factor.  If Lip Ink ever go out of business, I'm going to have to buy the company.
In my dreams...

By the way... if I were on a desert island, and I had my Lip Ink in tow, I would really be happy if it housed a winery.
Just asking...

Hope your weekend is filled with all your favorite things!

  1. Ooh...thanks for sharing. Must check out that moisturizer! (oh, and I haven't been to the eye doctor since my recheck from my lasik surgery...umm...yup, too many years to count. I see fine, why rush?) Ahh...Pandora...the only thing that kept me (and the baby) sane while driving the 12 hours to the university last summer. And, it will keep us and dad (we clued him in) sane on the return trip Tuesday!! Have not seen the flipstick...must try. You my dear, could pull off a brilliant red, me, not so much. And agree, bring on the wine!

  2. I have James Taylor and Jackson Brown stations playing on Pandora too! I saw Jackson Browne in concert last year - he was incredible and still looks the same :-)

  3. Love your blog! I am a new blogger and am about six years away from an "empty nest"...my oldest has just finished her freshman year in college and I am feeling like time is suddenly escaping me! I too am a lipstick girl...I joke that I would be invisible if I didn't have it on.

Would love for you to visit some time...

  8. These all sound like great picks! As you saw from my unfortunate situation this past weekend, I am always in need of a good self tanner!
