Suzette's Beautiful Empty Nest

Good Morning, dear friends.  I hope everyone had a good weekend.  We had our #1, Sista, and #1 Nef with us so it was wonderful here on the home front.

I have a special treat for you today.  It is a peek into my friend, Suzette's new gorgeous empty nester home in San Antonio, TX.

I met Suzette years ago in McKinney when our girls were on a tennis team together.  We had a lot in common - we both had two girls, we love to read, and we both enjoyed tennis.  The only difference is the fact that Suzette is a very gifted tennis player and I stunk was not quite as gifted.

Suzette and her hubby decided to retire in one of the most beautiful areas of  San Antonio.  The Mister and I are also considering San Antonio when the time comes to retire.  It is a city rich with history, art, and charm.  The weather is great ten months a year, as well.

So here is a peek into Suzette's beautiful home.  She told her designer that she preferred a quiet palette - preferably cream, beige and some blue.  Her designer was Heather Scott from Heather Scott Home & Design in Austin.

Family Room at Move In

After

I am in love with this space. It is elegant and yet so comfortable. Quite a few people can sit in this space.

Perfect setting for a party!

So welcoming and sets the tone for this gorgeous home.

If I had this kitchen, I would actually learn to cook!  Wow!  Great light fixtures and those bar chairs are tres chic and look so comfy!  Such a clean look and love the floor, too!

So warm and inviting!  Great light fixture and table and chairs.

Dining Room

Suzette decided on this beautiful grasscloth with a blue and cream weave.

The dining room doubles as a library.  Everything looks great - the book shelves, fabulous light fixture and I can never resist a round table.

Thank you sweet Suzette for sharing your lovely home with us.

Happy Monday!

  5. Love the colour palette. It can be so useful to have an outside eye. I get very enthusiastic about lots of ideas but sometimes it helps to have another view about how it goes together. San Antonio s climate sounds lovely but would I miss the seasons.... Not sure
