The Friday Files

 

I hope that you had a good week. We checked a few things off our list.  We got our 13th Covid Booster, or maybe it just felt that way.  We also got our flu shot - a higher dose this time.  I don't know why; I'm just assuming that they give the eye candy a little extra because we bring beauty to the world. 

I got in a few games of pickleball this week.  I think my fellow picklers are on to me.  When I make my customary bad calls, they shake their heads and roll their eyes in unison.  

It's not a good look, girls.

Fall Decor You Can't Ignore

 

Did you have a good weekend?  We spent Sunday celebrating our #2's thirtieth birthday at Georgie's, which was lovely.  Unfortunately, the birthday girl did not allow photos.

TGIF!  I hope that you had a productive week.  I am taking the Mister out for lunch today because he has finally ended his cataract journey.  He also is being recognized for being PEN's Employee of the Month for the 100th time in a row.  Mark my words... the Mister is going to be CEO of PEN's Dynasty sooner rather than later.

Thank you for all your sweet comments and notes addressing my new promotion to Grandmother.  I am planning a post in the near future sharing my new name and what I am looking forward to the most when our new little granddaughter arrives.

Summertime Reading

 

First of all, I want to thank everyone who took the time to comment on my first post back from my sabbatical.  Your sweet words concerning Chowdah's passing really warmed my heart. I also loved the parts where you said you missed me. 

My Summer in the Rearview

 

I hope that you had a great Summer.  I am happy to report that all is well in our Emptynesterworld.  All my family members are happy and healthy; that is the only thing I ask for.  

The weather guy reported that a lot of the country experienced Texas temps for a lot of the Summer.  For that, you have my condolences.  While some people are bidding adieu to their porch/patio season, we will finally be able to enjoy ours.

We had a fairly quiet Summer.  We adjusted our routine around the weather.  Early walks at dawn and never-too-early indoor happy hours.
