My Favorite Reader... Tanya

I hope that this post finds you well.  I am reporting from our little nest a lot more refreshed and relaxed.  I am in the process of putting together a post chronicling my experience at the Supermodel Trophy Wife camp. 

 Today, my favorite reader is Tanya from the entertaining blog, The Other Side of the Road. Although I have never met Tanya in person, I consider her a friend.  Tanya has been blogging since 2004.  Her posts include travel, recipes, family life, and of course, books. I have watched her darling children grow into their college years. And now, Tanya and her Mister have stepped into a season of their own... empty nesterhood.

I hope all is well in your part of the world.  We had a busy weekend running around doing errands and catching up on tedious household chores.  The highlight was meeting our dear friends, #1's in-laws, for another wonderful lunch.

I have a treat for you today.  This is the second installment of this series.  The last Designer of the Day was the incomparable Edith-Anne Duncan.  If you are not following her on Instagram, you are really missing something.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love posting beautiful design photos.  I look at it as my daily cardio.  I haven't lost any weight, but I sure enjoy eye candy.

I hope this finds you well.  Did you have a nice weekend?  Ours was lovely.  I spent some time reading all of the sweet comments that you left on my last post.  I appreciate them very much.

The Mister and I went to see this movie based on the book A Man Called Ove.  I read it eight years ago and loved it.  Many people will say the film is not as good as the book, but I thought it was equally entertaining.  Tom Hanks can do no wrong in my book.

We took our #1 to lunch, and she came back to the house to help me with a project.  More deets on Monday.

A Kitchen Facelift

I hope that you had a good week.  Ours was a busy one and flew by. We are off to lunch today and to see A Man Called Otto.  I have been dying to see it.  

Today, as promised, I will give you a glance at our kitchen reno.  Unlike the one at our last home, this transition was a smooth one. The contractors actually showed up on time, did a stellar job, and cleaned up after themselves.

We are a little sad about our Horned Frogs, but oh well, there's always next year.

Here is a glance at our dream team.  We are finally taking our tree down today while our eager helper, Millie, will be playing with all of her friends at camp. Chowdah will be assuming his usual post as security detail.  And the Mister will be taking off the ornaments on the branches that are out of reach for me.  That covers about 75% of them.

TGIF!  I hope all is well with you in your corner of the world.  Boy, am I ever happy that this week is over.  I spent most of my spare time checking my phone to see what day of the week it was. 

I have a treat for you today.  If you are a frequent reader, you know that I started a new series last year focusing on my dear friends who are voracious readers.  I am always curious about people's reading habits and their latest favorite books.

Holiday Recap & Prime Time

Happy New Year!  I hope that you all enjoyed your holidays.  Did you have to fly anywhere?  I've never been so happy about having our family within driving distance.  It looked like a nightmare at the airports.
