TGIF! Did you have a good week? Mine was very good. Chowdah was with us, which always makes Millie happy. She even took him to camp with her and got to play with the big dogs kids.
Millie has to touch Chow at all times.
My two assistants dealing with the exciting chaos of Blog Central.
I met my new friend, Debbie, for lunch at Rise No.1.The funny thing about meeting a reader is that they know all about the blogger, but the blogger doesn't know much about the reader. I had a wonderful time getting to know Debbie.
Here is a snapshot of what has kept us entertained lately.
This is the most honest, raw memoir that I have ever read.
At times, I felt like I was eavesdropping on Paul's life. I highly recommend the audio version because some big names help to narrate. For instance, Jeff Daniels sits in for Paul.
I am partial to books that take place in the 1950s.
I loved the characters as well as the storyline.
Again, I highly recommend the audible version of this fabulous memoir. Molly had an unconventional upbringing. She lost her mother, sister, and cousin in a car accident. The car was driven by her father, who happened to have had a few drinks before the crash. Molly, her sister, her cousin, as well as her father survived. This book will make you laugh and cry.
Another great thriller by Jennifer Hillier.
It centers around a famous comedian's murder and his young wife, who is accused of the crime.
This was a good suspenseful story that kept my attention.
However, I am no prude, but there were entirely too many off-color words. The book would have been just as good without them.
B.A. Paris is the author of one of my favorite books, Behind Closed Doors. The Prisoner is a solid thriller with a twist big enough to give you whiplash.
I read this a while ago, and it is due to be out at the end of the month. I enjoyed this fast-moving thriller revolving around a social media star and her family.
The influencer's assistant is murdered.
Don't worry, Chow and Millie, you are safe with me.
You will love this one if you treasure a story with plenty of twists and turns laced with a touch of ironic humor.
No fury like a woman scorned.

This page-turner kept me guessing all along the way. A young nanny and a stay-at-home dad start hanging out together.
What could go wrong?
I am reading this now. The authors are a favorite writing duo of mine. This one comes out in July.
This is my First Reads pick, and I can't wait to start it.
This just came out and received great reviews.
Do you believe that I have never read a Louise Penny book?
I'm going to change that in 2023.
One of my favorite comedians, Mindy Kaling, started a book club.
And the best part... this one is her first choice and is free on First Reads.
FREE is my favorite four-letter word.
It is at the top of my TBR list.
I've seen this guy interviewed so much that I feel like I've already listened to his book. I'll probably download the audible.
Very few times I say that I enjoyed the series as much as the book, but it is true in this case.
We watch this fabulously fun show before we go to sleep because we want sweet dreams.
Paul, I hope you're not reading this.
I remember reading the story in the press when it was happening.
People were disappointed with the ending.
It's difficult to change the ending when it is a true story.
We have only watched the first show, and the jury is still out.
The second season is even better than the first.
We watched Captain Sandy and her crew on Below Deck.
My favorite curmudgeon is back for his final season.
I love this show.
So sad it is in its last season.
I leave you with good news.
A movie has been made out of one of my favorite Christmas stories. Here is the trailer.

ReplyDeleteI just picked up that Matthew Perry book today! I have yet to pick out my first reads book of this month...I just can't decide.
ReplyDeletePinning this so I can read all of your book recs! That first pic of Millie and Chowdah - oh my heart!!!
ReplyDeletexo,

Hi there, I've got to get it out somewhere. Everyone raves about White Lotus. But I find the characters so unappealing that I can't watch the show. I don't like any of them. I'll have to get back to your books. Sandra Sallin
ReplyDeleteHi Katie Charlene G here! Thank you so much for letting us know about season 10 of Doc Martin! I love that show and I had let my Acorn tv subscription lapse so I have now fixed that and cannot wait to watch it. I loved The Watcher, still obsessing over Naomi Watts’s gorgeous almost all white wardrobe. Reminded me of Dianne Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching Doc Martin. Love the show! I watched The Watcher. Creepy for sure!! There is a new season for Escape To The Chateau that I am loving and I also loved season 6 of Somebody Feed Phil. I am watching more than I am reading. Thanks for the book reviews! Making notes!! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Katie, PLEASE read Louise Penny's books from the beginning! There are wonderful characters that grow with each book. This is a series that I stop everything to read the latest! There is going to be a TV series starting in December. It will be called Three Pines.
ReplyDeleteI loved Made from Scatch!! And I also love all Cuddle Duds! I still need to read the 2 recent Hilderbrand books - maybe over Thanksgiving on our ride to Ohio!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I have been toggling back and forth to check out all of your book recommendations! As for the Watcher...I actually laughed when I read in the reviews that people were disappointed with the ending! WTH, it is a true story. Don't people read the news?
ReplyDeleteBring on the Christmas movies!
Have a wonderful Sunday. I am off to check the sales.

Always fun to read your picks. I often snapshot the book so I have it on my phone. When I run out of 'new reads' I pull your books out. I thought it was funny that people were disappointed in the end of The Watcher. Helllloooooo---can't change a real story folks.
ReplyDeleteJust watched The Patient...dark but good!
Have a great day- xo Diana
