The Friday Files

I hope all is well in your world.  Today is my last day of publishing a blog post until September.  This will be the Summer of piddling and purging.  I've got a few items on my to-do list for the next few months.

Sit back and allow me to bore you to tears.

180 Closet Design

The purging will primarily be done in my closet.  If I don't like or can't fit into an item on the day of the purge, it goes to Goodwill.  If it has noogies, I will bid the sweater Sayonara.  I will thin the herd in my cosmetic drawers.  I have a few tubes and bottles older than Estee Lauder herself, taking up valuable space.

Next up:  My phone.  Excuse my humble brag - obviously, I am very popular.  Can I help it if kind people and robots are reaching out to me with info on how great their insurance, HVAC, car warranties, and investment companies are?  And let's not forget that nice lady who wants to give me that free vacation.

I am going to take the Pilates plunge.  I have been following/watching this lady for months now.  This Summer, it is time to get off the couch and actually do the bending and stretches with her.

I will continue to push myself to improve my pickleball game.  By the end of the Summer, I hope to actually make contact with the ball.

Lastly, the Mister and I have a few adventures planned.  I would tell you, but then I would have to kill you.

I will be a force to be reckoned with on Instagram.  You can follow me here.  I will continue to post pretty design photos that I can take absolutely no credit for.  I will also be posting good sales and books that I liked.  I'll leave the dog tricks to the professionals.

I look forward to catching up with my fellow bloggers.  I have been remiss about visiting them but will make up for it.  Btw... my Blogroll is up and running,  If you were on the previous list and have been omitted from the current list, please send me an email, and I will add you.

That kind of sums up the next three months for me.  If you have any ideas for a blog post or a question for me, leave a comment or shoot me an email.

This gorgeous home was designed by one of the owner's best friends, Liz Williams.

Tour this lovely apartment in a manor house in France.

This charming antique home was designed by Louise Copeland.

Feeling blue?  Here are the best foods to fight depression.  Surprisingly, my own personal favorite, Peanut M&Ms, is not included in the list.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Mister read the same article as me.  For the first time in 33 years, the Mister made himself a veggie sandwich for dinner.  Anywho... here are 15 recipes.

All you need is four, count'em 4 stretches to build a stronger body and soothe sore muscles.

Now that we will be exposed to the sun more on these beautiful days, here is a checklist on your moles.  The good news is most of them are normal.

This is a list of the best over-the-counter drugs and health products according to pharmacists.

Going abroad?
Here is a list of the best translation apps.

Do you want to take your family away on a getaway they will never forget?

How about a tree house?

I am reading this now and enjoying it.

I finished listening to this yesterday.

Good story and a fast read.

I am taking my consecutive Employee of the Month out to see this movie and lunch today to celebrate our last day of work.

Will you be watching America's favorite dysfunctional family's finale?  I know we will be because it's the Mister's favorite show.

Last but not least, there is a national anchorman who signs off with the words:
Thank you for the privilege of your time.

It always makes me think of all of my devoted readers that have kept me company for the past eleven years.

I thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read my silly little blog.

Or even if you are like my family members who only
look at the pictures, I appreciate you, too, for stopping by.

As the song goes...
I'll see you in September.

I have a ton of blue/white stripe shirts in my closet. And now this one is on its way to my crowded, soon-to-be-purged closet.

I love this neckline.

Comes in black too.

I bought this dress a while ago, and I am planning on packing it for one of our adventures.

This jacket is calling my name.

  2. I highly recommend you trying Reformer Pilates first if a Pilates studio is near you. The Reformer will help prepare you for matt Pilates. I have been doing Pilates for 6 years and love it. The matt is harder especially if you have a weak core. I do Reformer and matt Pilates each 2x a week. The Reformer also does exercises you will do as well in a matt class. The two types of Pilates compliment each other and help you get stronger. I am 69 years old and I love the strength and toning to my body. You have to do it consistently to positively impact your body. Hope you will love it as much as I do. Good Luck!!!

  3. It all sounds great - but do they have flushing bathrooms in tree houses? I'd hate to keep running inside to the main house all night. Ahh . . . reality. Happy summer to you. If you are on the Gulf Coast, let me know!

  18. I haven't been here in a while. Who knew retirement life would be so crazy busy??? I do follow you on insta so see the pretty rooms. Cleaning up my phone is on my list too. I have so many things saved in folders on both Facebook and Instagram and am determined to go through and buy-try-or delete. Enjoy your summer and your adventures! Have you read Everything Sad is Untrue? I enjoyed it so much. A memoir that reads like fiction, and I think classified as YA, but the reviewers all agree with me that this one speaks to anyone who was ever 12 years old.
