Preppy Empty Nester

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my middle-aged years while entangled in the never-ending process of renovating an antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili.

Hello, I'm Katie

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my midlife years one page at a time. We sold our antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts in October 2020. We relocated to Dallas and have been spending our time searching for our Forever Home. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material, however, is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, my favorite son-in-law, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili. Hi Katie, Your needlepoint club sounds like such fun & the lunch heavenly. Never been one to needlepoint, but I think I tried my hand at it when I was 7 or 8. I hope Barbara finds her Prince Charming. I am excited about the new Royal baby....I am sure she is just precious!! Your post yesterday had me in stitches...hands, shoulders, knees & toes, knees & toes!! I remember it well!! Got together with a bunch of friends last night for an art walk in their town...lots of fun. Trying to get the same group together for a country fair event in Rhinebeck early in June. Wished you lived closer...this is right up your alley! Take care! xoxo, Dawn
ReplyDeleteAnne's needlepoint group sounds terrific.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see how lovely Kate looked when she left the hospital LATER IN THE DAY after delivering the baby in the morning? I don't think that I looked that good a month after delivering any of my kids!
Sounds like a fantastic group and a lovely lunch. Here's hoping Barbara finds her man!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked the needlepoint group..and they FED YOU, too? Sounds like the perfect group to me! That WOULD be funny if the "kissing stranger" ended up kissing her again. Let's all pray he wasn't just out on parole or something- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteNew BFF......I have been needling for forty years.....and if it's a view of the water that sways you, I will fill a tub out in the yard and throw in a glass of wine. REALLY!!! Sounds like a blast Katie. So excited these ladies can get to know the girl we have loved for a long time. R
ReplyDeleteThat's my kind of fun for sure, food, good company and lots of fun, except that I don't needlepoint. Maybe I could bring my cross stitch. Happy new week!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing menus for lady gatherings, as I host bunko this month. Sweet story. Though I can't figure out the theme on that beautiful belt...best I can see its cavemen swinging large balls on chains? But yet that doesn't seem right?
ReplyDeleteLove that you are trying something new and being such a trooper, commendable given your celebrity status :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend and enjoying this spectacular weather FINALLY!
Katie how fun and this is my kind of weekend!! I love the marathon story!!
ReplyDeleteOh and it is the last day to enter my Giveaway from Tina!!
