#2's Friday Faves

Happy Friday, y'all!  It's supposed to be a picture perfect day on the East Coast tomorrow. I'm very excited.  I have yet to see one of those days since I moved here.

Congratulations to:

My #1 arrives home for her very last Spring Break today.  We are headed to Connecticut to Sista's house to celebrate our father's 96th birthday. I'm bringing the cake and the stripper is scheduled to show up at the house around three.  Just putting that in there to see if you were listening.

My #2 has come up with a list of her latest favorite things.  I will occasionally make some helpful mom comments in bold.

Potential favorite thing:

I go to a school steeped in tradition. Part of it is even a historic landmark. Yes, it's that old.
One of the more exciting traditions that we have is called "Fancy Dress." This is a huge event. Juicy J is performing at the kick-off concern. It's kinda a big deal.
So, clearly, I am dying to find the perfect thing to wear. Unfortunately, everything is a bit out of my minimal college income (i.e. none). Therefore, I have been thinking about alternatives.
I am considering ordering a dress from Rent the Runway. This is a rental website for high-end dresses. The whole "renting" idea makes me nervous; but, hey, it's worth a shot.
I'll keep you posted on what I pick and how it works out.

I told you I would buy you a dress.
Now my blog friends are are going to think I am cheap.

No one will be more excited about this favorite thing than my mom… Yes, high-waisted jeans are back. They have the perfect flattering fit. I love how you can easily tuck a shirt into them or leave it out, making them look like an everyday pair of jeans. Levi's is doing it well...

Wait... when did they go out?

These Koss Headphones are only the best headphones I've ever had. Over the years I have become a headphone connoisseur (imagine that drawer that you have of tangled multi-colored wires and earbuds jutting out that will never be anything but a massive knot). Gone are the days when I am left to choose between 389471million pairs.

I know that drawer intimately.  I cleaned it out in your room when we moved from Texas.

I can only imagine what my mom will have to say about this one… But this has been my favorite deodorant for years. Actually the best smell, believe me. I've tried a few of the Old Spice scents, while all of them are decent, Hawkridge trumps them all.

"For guys with swift minds"?????

Okay, I know, I know, another pair of pants… But these are amazing. They're Old Navy's new Linen-Blend Pull-On Pant. These are my dream pants. The perfect mix of fashion and comfort.

Mom, seriously, I'll skip the leggings and t-shirt for one day if you get these for me.

Forget you.... I'm getting these for me.  You can wear your leggings for another few years.

Okay, just look at the name of the website: ilovepeanutbutter.com
If that doesn't say is all, I don't know does.
I am extremely picky about peanut butter. I was never a fan as a child, but after being introduced to The Bee's Knees and Peanut Butter & Co. I became one.
My personal favorites are: The Bee's Knees (a honey sweetened peanut butter) and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl (complete with real raisins blended in and in chunks).

It's about time that you fall in love with peanut butter.  I was ready to have a DNA test done on you!  How could a child of mine not adore peanut butter?

Thank you, dear #2, for your very informative, fun post!
Now go and do your homework.

Whether it's smooth or chunky, I hope your weekend is a good one!

  1. Our #2 arrived home for break yesterday. Loving #2s picks. Believe me, my girls have plenty of those runway dresses you could borrow! LOL Thank goodness this years semi formal theme is the Kentucky Derby (one of those Lilly dresses will get put to good use for that one). And, my #2 swore by guys deodorant while playing sports...said it worked much better (never mind you smell like guys aftershave).

  5. love your dishwashing system, I have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, so my dishes get done twice as fact (and they get fed at the same time), just kidding, dinner looks amazing and of course a beautiful table helps the cause. Looks like a good time was had by all.

  7. I am so glad high waisted jeans are in again…..I am now in style! I want those Old Navy pants also. Me and my three girls also use men's deodorant/antiperspirant. It gets so hot and humid here in the summer and that is what works.

  8. My oldest just discovered the Rent the Runway site and rented a gorgeous Badgley Mischka stunner for a formal this past weekend for mere fractions. Definitely worth it.

  9. Old Spice, Hawkridge...best smelling deodorant! Thanks for the tip. My husband thought I bought it for him, but I really like the smell. It never occurred to me to wear men's deodorant. It's so fun to try new products when they come with a recommendation. Thank you!
