Shades of Grey Book Club

I knew I would get your attention with that title.  Shades of Grey refers to the post that I did last Fall on Corrine's beautiful home.  This month she was kind enough to host our last book club before our Summer hiatus.

Lunch was not only delicious, but it was so colorful!

The quiche was so light and yummy!

These biscuits were to die for!

These carrot cupcakes were one of the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life.  And believe me, I've had a lot of cupcakes in my life!

Corrine bought these darling cupcake wrappers at World Market.

This is the first time I had one of these.  It was so refreshing and NO calories!

Just to refresh your memory, I took some photos of Corrine's stunning home!

Hello Paradise!!

Our charming hostess, Corrine, is on the far right.  It was kind of bittersweet today because two of our treasured members are moving over the Summer.   They will be sorely missed!

The book choice this month was:

and a few of the ladies went to see the movie after lunch.

Another fabulous book club.
I'm sad because the next time we meet in the Fall two of our friends will be gone to greener pastures.
Oh well, there's always skype!

Hope your day is filled with good reading and great friends!

  1. Ha! Our book club "read" the first in the series (I never finished, waste of time, money, and well...don't get me started). Anywho...what a delish spread!!! And, a beautiful home to boot. I did not get to attend our last couple meetings due to conflicts, so I am looking forward to fall. I wish we met during the daytime rather than evening (especially now that my days are free). Elie, our oldest just finished reading Great Gatsby in preparation for seeing the movie. It was one of our all time favorite books!! Hope the movie does it justice.

  3. Her home is gorgeous and looks like an amazing spread of food. I'll have to remember the quiche for the next book club I host.. great idea! Those cupcakes look amazing ~love that huge glob of frosting on top:) The book would be one I would enjoy reading for this months book club. I'm not sure what book they've chosen but I am not attending because of our busy June schedule.

Hope you are enjoying the weekend! xxleslie

  8. Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Spending some time
and actual effort to create a top notch article… but what can I say… I hesitate a lot and don't seem to get nearly anything done.

  9. It can be hard to find great details about jewelery. There is certainly a
plethora of info at present accessible which may confuse you.

The very best ideas you within this post.

  10. First of all my mouth is watering looking at all the yummy food. I think it is great you have a book club. I just re read "The Great Gatsby" the week before the movie came out and I was a fan the second time around.
