Fall Accessories / Handbags

Photo by Aaron Burden on Unsplash

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you are having a good weekend.  It is a gorgeous, crisp Fall day here on the South Shore.  I'm looking forward to listening to the last pages of a good book on my walk.

Yesterday, I went to see A Star Is Born.  I really didn't know what to expect considering how much I loved the Streisand version.  I used to play the soundtrack nonstop and knew every word.  After a bazillion plays on my record player, I even knew which songs had the skips.

The latest A Star Is Born exceeded all of my expectations.  Good news:  Gaga can act and Bradley can sing.  He even sang better than Kristofferson and he was a singer!

I highly recommend seeing this movie.
Don't forget the tissues.

As I have mentioned before, I am not a shoe person.  But I am a pocketbook purse/handbag tote person.  I consider scrolling through purses online part of my cardio. Meanwhile, while I am keeping myself occupied, my Mister can be found perusing watches and cars. I have a much less expensive hobby so I can buy more.

Here are some that caught my eye.

By the way... I bought this crossbody for my vacation last Summer and I loved it.  It's the perfect size for stashing a compact camera.  It still had enough room for other essentials such as my miracle cosmetics and breath mints.

Until next time...

I've been getting many angry letters from cats lately.  So today is all about them.  For all you cats and cat lovers out there, this one is for you.

I'm Katie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am an empty nester meandering through my middle-aged years while entangled in the never-ending process of renovating an antique home on the South Shore of Massachusetts. I love to write about books, movies, TV, celebrities, decorating, and weekend adventures. My favorite writing material is derived from my family: the Mister, my girls, #1 and #2, and my two untrainable, rambunctious pups, Chowdah and Chili.

  1. I am a Dooney and Bourke fan myself and I purchase mine from I LOVE DOONEY....it saves me a lot of moola!! Recently I came upon a Cole Haan at the local consignment store and I purchased it and now I may be a CH fan. I like Tory Burch but even at Zulily her bags are too pricy for me. I keep saying I do not need a new handbag but who am I kidding???

  2. Oh, I love handbags and have just had to put a freeze on buying anymore. I could buy a new one every month or more. Love your choices. Happy weekend Katie!

  3. October 10th is National Handbag Day!! I laughed at you crossing out "pocketbook" - is that a New England thing? Took me years to adjust to saying purse and handbag when I moved away!!! There is nothing like a good one!!

  4. My purses MUST have at least two outside pockets and lots of room inside. Most of those designer bags, though beautiful and very well made, don't have my pockets and massive interiors!

  5. So glad the remake is as good as the ads seem to make it look! I am really looking forward to seeing this one.

  6. Bradley is fine I'm sure but there is none like "KRIS KRISTOFFERSON", that's how you spell his name. Thanks.

  7. Wow such a variety of handbags. I have a love hate relationship with purses. I love having the accessory of a purse but then I think I need everything in it and by that point its too heavy to carry around haha. Then I want to simplify and carry less stuff but find out later I need something I left out. I really want to see the Star is Born movie but it's rated R and even though I'm sure its really good, I made a deal with myself long ago not to see rated R movies so I"m holding myself to it. Thanks for the review I'm glad it turned out well, I really like Lady Gaga.
    Have a wonderful Sunday!!

  10. Love the bags Katie :-) When I was traveling for my job I would stop at the Dooney and Burke outlet in Vermont. That was a blessing and a curse! Thankfully I'm all set with my handbags for a while. Boy am I tempted by this post!

  11. There is always cause for a handbag!

A Star is Born... AMAZING!!! I haven't seen even one of the three other versions. Does the Streisand version end the same? We were trying to figure that out, without investing the time to watch them all.
