The Friday Files

Did you have a good week?  Mine was a bit on the busy side.  I got my yearly mammogram and then sweated it out for 24 hours until I received the email with good news.  I don't know about you, but a mammogram can cause my anxiety meter to go from 1 to 100.

I took my daily walks all week and ran into these two thugs lugging what looked like a body.  I have watched enough Dateline shows to know a crime scene when I see one.

My picklebuds and I played at 7AM one morning.  Thank goodness the courts had light because it was pretty darn dark out.
As always, we shared more laughs than dinks.

I worked my fingers to the bone searching for the best deals on Amazon Prime days.  I then spent the rest of my energy hiding the boxes from the Mister.

Tomorrow night, we are having a small dinner party.  The Mister is conducting his mise en place as I write this.

Take a gander at this gorgeous newly renovated 1928 home in Bronxville, NY.

I am pea-green with envy over this lovely home in Jupiter, FL.

Since reading this book, I have been obsessed with Jackie O.  This house was her sister, Lee Radziwill's home, which was on the market the first of the year.

I read this story about this darling couple over the Summer and saved it just for you.

Travel & Leisure asked its readers to vote on their top favorite cities in the US.
Can you guess any of the winners?
Julia & Tim, any guesses?

Have you ever heard the term shoulder season?  When we lived in Massachusetts, we would visit Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and the Cape during shoulder season.  We just never knew that there was a term for it.

Correction:  the Mister informed me this afternoon that he was acquainted with the term; he forgot to mention it to me.

Hey Mister... let me introduce you to Cold Shoulder Season.

Do you have a long flight in your future?
Anything over 2 hours is long to me.
Here are 33 Helpful Tips to make the flight more comfortable.

I know what would make my journey more comfortable... business class and lots of vino.
Are you reading this, Mister?

This is an exhibit that I would love to see.

I sent this delicious-looking dish to the Mister and asked him to make it for me.

I have yet to hear back.

Can this Bake Off  be saved?

The Mister & I hope so.

Here is an excerpt from a newly-released book written about one of Hollywood's most famous couples.  It was officially authorized by the estate of Lucy and Ricky.

I have been counting the minutes until this series begins, and tonight is the night!

I haven't watched The Bachelor since the season that featured my #1's roommate in college.  I have watched about 4 episodes while the Mister scrolled his phone and pretended not to watch.

I like the bachelor, and the women are much kinder to each other than the young ones.  At least so far...

I am thrilled to be partnering with Colleen Rothschild.  If you are unfamiliar with this incredible line, Colleen combines science and technology with botanicals & luxury skincare.  I talk about it in my stories here.

Here's the good news.  I can offer you 20% Off any product plus Free Shipping over $49.00 when you use my code: PREPPY20.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

I use Extreme Recovery Cream as my night cream.  It targets dehydrated skin, and it is soooo rich.  When I put it on, I can almost hear my skin slurp it up.  And in the morning, my skin feels so soft and well-nourished.  And if you like a dewy makeup look like me, it makes a great canvas for makeup.

Although the Quench & Shine Restorative Mask has the word mask in it, you can use this little miracle in a jar as a conditioner.  After I shampoo my hair, I put it on, leave it on for about 5 minutes, and then rinse.

I dry my hair, and my old, coarse, frizzy hair is unbelievably soft and smooth.  I cannot believe the difference.

Another thing is this is a large jar, and you don't have to use a lot.
I kid you not; this is a game-changer.

Hop over and check out all of Colleen Rothschild's wonderful products, and remember my code: PREPPY20 for 20% Off.

If these pants make my legs look this good, I will take a dozen.

Love these tissue turtlenecks.
No bulk under sweaters.

  1. Had no idea #1's roommate was on the Bachelor! That might warrant a rewatch. Which season?

  8. Loved the article about that young couple….I think it was destiny. After searching…cannot find out where to watch current season of The

  9. Great skeleton display. Lol cold shoulder season. And how about sitting on a plane for over 2.5 hrs - in first class, no less - before takeoff? That was the case with my sis-in-law and bro-in-law after a Viking ocean cruise from HELL (they both got Covid and stayed stateroom days 4-9, only for him to have an inflamed gallbladder attack and have to be hospitalized somewhere in Chioggia Italy, missed the planned flight home, only to get out 2 days later on a plane that seemed grounded. You can't make this stuff up! Love the house tours. Thanks for the Friday Files. Have a great weekend!
