It feels so good to type those words. I hope that you had a wonderful Summer. It just amazes me how quickly the Summer months fly by and January and February drag on.
I'm going to give you a quick rundown on my Summer Sabbatical and my Amazon purchases in two parts. It's your lucky day the first part is today!
Here are some highlights.
Rumor has it that my two trusty assistants are trying to unionize. Their demands revolve around treats, bones, and balls.
The Mister officially retired again. I have spent countless hours training him. This is the day I took him outside of his comfort zone to the Outlets. The training consisted of working on his physical strength and building up his stamina.
Next time we will concentrate on his facial expressions. Looking disappointed and sad while I am checking out with all my incredible buys are big no-no's in the Mister's new world.
In an effort to elevate the Mister's training, we increased our daily walk from 3 miles to 5 miles.
Next week, I will have him walk the neighborhood carrying two 40-pound suitcases so he will be trained for travel.
We hosted our share of happy hours and dinners for some old and new friends.
We spent some time with our #2. She has been commuting to Boston for an assignment for work.
Chow has been spending more time with us due to #2's travel. Millie is delighted - Chow not so much.
I did a lot of reading and I look forward to sharing my reviews with you.
Here is a sneak peek.
There is a lot of P-I-N-K!
A full reveal post is headed your way in the not-so-distant future.
Don't forget to check back on Friday for Part Two of my scintillating Summer as well as the last of my Amazon purchases. I will also give you a sneak peek of our Master Bedroom.
Lastly, I will be sharing some big news with you.
We have tried a lot of rug pads over the years, and we found these were the best.
I bought a couple more of my favorite bath rugs for my office bathroom, or rather Millie's bathroom. The Mister installed a new showerhead and attachment to give Millie a spa experience after she arrives home from daycare.
Out with old, in with the new.
The Mister bought me this because he has eyed some coffee stains on the stairs that lead up to my office. I told him that Millie probably did it.
I bought these thinking I would need a new pair for all the hydrangeas I would cut out of my garden.
That was a bust.
Reorder #8
I use this as a toner to make sure that I removed the 5 layers of foundation off my face.
It takes a village, folks.
One of my favorite novelists, Jane Green, wore these during one of her Instastories, so of course, I had to order them.
I'm expecting my writing to improve any minute now.
I love a double case! This way, I can lose two pairs of glasses instead of one.
I am in a constant battle with my dry eye.
Amazon
This stuff works!
I wish it would cure my dry eye.
I picked up this sweet set for my bookshelves in the MBR.
I also use them on my table as vases.
For my console in my office.
I bought this mini vacuum to clean up the crumbs dust particles in my office.
The Mister spends more time fussing over the dishwasher and garbage disposal than he does over me.
Luckily, I am not the jealous type.
Amazon
He hangs these on the inside of our trash containers so the neighbors will think our trash smells fresher than Springtime. It's kind of like Summer's Eve for trash cans.
If I haven't bored you to tears, stop by on Friday to see the rest of my Prime purchases, a continuation of my Summer fun, and
some very big news.
You can find Part 2 right here.
I decided to feature this dog today since he works so hard directing me to other pages.

DeleteWelcome back, Katie! Can't wait to hear more about your summer and see your office and bedroom. (I have very dry eyes, and my ophthalmologist has me use Systane Ultra PF preservative-free drops (one vial per day) in order to avoid the constant preservatives in the regular Systane eye drops.)

ReplyDeleteSo glad you’re back. You always make me laugh. Have you mentioned your dry eye to optometrist. I use restasis. My dry eyes have improved greatly. Now I put in one drop at night.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know. I am going back to my optometrist in a few weeks.
DeleteShe's back! And not a moment too soon. I'm taking copious notes on your mister-in-training program. My mister is threatening to retire at the end of the year so I've got my work cut out for me. Might as well start now with the proper facial expression module. Pop Quiz - what is proper facial expression when viewing wife's Amazon cart after Preppy Empty Nester returns from sabbatical? Oops, he failed. Back to the drawing board. Good to have you back ... you've been missed. xo (By the way, this is Juliet from makemineaspritzer.com, after five attempts to leave a comment as a person I've thrown in the towel. ;-)
ReplyDeleteJuliet... you always make me giggle!!
DeleteWelcome back! We have needed you in blogland! I can't wait to hear the big news, but I have a guess...

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are back after your summer sabbatical. However, I did not get a notification that you had a new post. I just remembered seeing on IG that you would be back this week. Do you have any idea how I can start receiving them again? I don’t want to miss any of your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Janet
