Last Minute Gifts for Her

Hello, dear friends.  Can you believe how quickly December is whipping by?  I wish February flew by with the same speed.

Last weekend, the Mister and I went to see the movie Widows.  It had a great cast, including a favorite of mine, Viola Davis.  Unfortunately, the screenplay was disjointed and fell flat for me.  The Mister felt the same way.

We also took care of the outdoor decorating.  Usually, we tackle this task the weekend after Thanksgiving.  We couldn't do it this year because we were in Dallas.  Saturday, the temps topped off in the 20's.  It was not nearly as much fun as the past years.

Now that our girls are adults, we ask them to give us a gift list.  Because the gifts are a lot more expensive than when they were little, the presents under the tree are a lot more sparse. It is at this point that I start looking for filler gifts.  These are things that the girls did not ask for, and yet I think that they will appreciate.  Sometimes this random gift practice ends with a smile and other times a request for the gift receipt.
It's lucky that I'm not sensitive.

Do her makeup brushes look like they have seen better days?

If they don't look that bad, how about a makeup brush cleaner?

Does she complain about her eyelashes?  My #1 gave me this lash primer for my birthday, and it is a game changer.  I've even been asked if my lashes were fake!

Why not throw in a tube of mascara, as well?

For the serious traveler who packs more makeup than clothes, this train case will make her day.

A hanging cosmetic case is easy to pack and easy to use.

I bought these clear cosmetic bags last year because I could never find anything.  These are the best and dirt cheap.

Is she vacationing in a warm place?  If she's like me, she doesn't want to show up in shorts looking white as a ghost. My #2 has tried dozens of self-tanners and swears by this one.

You can also throw a tube of suntan lotion in her stocking as well.

Amazon

If she's got some frizz or damaged hair, this stuff is a miracle in a bottle.

Does she need a little help in the organization department?

Does she need a new makeup mirror?

I bought one of these makeup mirrors when the Mister and I lived in an apartment.

How about a traveling mirror?

Dry skin and lips will be a thing of the past with this little gift set.

If the tub is her happy place, a bath set would be a great idea.

Skip the trip to the aesthetician and unclog your pores at home.

Amazon

Is she the queen of the Selfies?
How about a set of lights to make her feel and look like a star?

Amazon

If her model is of the canine persuasion, how about a pooch selfie attachment?

A full iPhone lens attachment kit is sure to make her smile for the camera.

My #1 just moved into a new apartment recently.  Evidently, her new neighbors are not as quiet as her old ones.  She bought a sound machine, and the problem is solved.
I wonder if it will work for the Mister's snoring.

If she likes her wine brain-freeze cold, her heart will warm when she opens these self-chilling glasses.

Amazon

I am ordering one of these to kickstart my sheddin' for the weddin' diet in 2019.

How about a poncho?
One size fits all, and they hide a multitude of sins.

If she's always cold, this Irish wool poncho will warm her up right away.  I have a couple of sweaters made by this company, and they keep me toasty.

If her hubby calls her purse the Bermuda Triangle like my man does, this purse light would make a great stocking stuffer.

If she is old school like me, a pretty new planner will make her day.

How about a wireless bamboo keyboard to up her computer game?

Or an extra large mouse pad.
I bought this one last year, and I love it.

A plush robe that is not only pretty but also nice and warm is also an appreciated gift.

The Mister and I both have these faux fur throws.  Not only are they warm, but they also are the perfect camouflage for dog hair.

If she carries her stress in her neck and shoulders, this microwavable heating pad is a lifesaver.

For the girl that gets her share of sinus headaches and migraines like me, this heated pad works wonders.

For the girl who wakes up with puffy eyes.

How about the ultimate travel pillow that will be the envy of her fellow passengers?

Unless she doesn't mind being held up for a few hours, tell her to remove it before entering security.

Take it from me, I know from experience.

Until next time...

  2. Lots of interesting stuff here. I want one of everything.

My middle daughter put on eyelash primer the next morning after we made a "girls" trip to Sephora. Unfortunately, she forgot to add mascara when she got distracted! Sitting in Starbucks later, her sister and I had a doubled-over laughing fit when we looked at her straight on and saw her "white" mascara. She couldn't wait to get home and finish her make up job!
