The Friday Files

Upsplash/Aaron Burden

Hello, dear friends.  TGIF!  Did you have a good week?  Mine certainly had its ups and downs.

For all of you who don't follow me on Instagram, here is the update on Chili. I left you on Wednesday as we were on our way to the Vet's to have an x-ray.

The x-ray showed that there was a foreign object in her stomach (upper right).  Chili then had a sonogram, and that showed the same thing.  The Vet sent us to an emergency hospital a half an hour away.

Four hours later my girl was having surgery.

The very nice surgeon called me afterward to tell me that all went well in the OR.

He then asked me "Is anyone in your family missing a sock?"

How would you like to wake up to this view every morning?
This NYC Sutton Place townhouse could be yours.

For those of you who are new to my blog, this is my #1 soon to be known as our own version of bridezilla

Ever since she was little, she liked pink food.  When I would ask her what kind of ice cream, sandwich, or pasta she wanted she would always shout "PINK!"

Can you guess what kind of wedding cake will be served on the big day?

In honor of my #1, here is a recipe for a yummy coconut strawberry pie.

I christened it my time-out room.
You can find plenty of inspiration here.

Is there a special little boy(s) in your life?
Does he like his bedroom?
Darling rooms can be found here.

I don't know about you, but I sit a lot at my computer.  Consequently, I get a sore back.  I've been using these exercises, and they really helped me.

Natalie Wood's mysterious death has always intrigued me.
There is now a podcast that not only examines the facts surrounding her death but also looks at her unhappy life.

Do you travel much?

  1. Still so sad for Mr. Chili! He will be back to his mischievous ways in no time. Love that one girly loves pink food and one loves collagen! Beautiful architecture as always! Happy weekend lovely!

  2. Great roundup. Poor Chili...at least you found out what it was. Rosie has eaten a few questionable things over the years but never serious enough for an operation. Dogs! Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Holy sisterhood, Sis. Yet two more similarities: Our dog Fergus inhaled nylon knee highs on a regular basis back in the day and my #2 also had a birthday this week ...

  4. I hope Chili recovers quickly, poor little dude! I've followed James and Liz on IG for a long time. Their posts are so amazing, and they have seriously mad photoshop skills! Liz's photos are gorgeous.

I hope you have a fun weekend! Your daughters are so cute! I need to check out the collagen thing. I need all the help I can get!

  6. Well my nephew's dog ate rocks!! Also required surgery. A sock sounds more appetizing.:) Like you, I have often wondered about the death of Natalie Wood. Thanks for sharing the pod cast. My Margaret is also a pink girl.....but neapolitan is her favorite ice cream because she likes all the colors together.lol

  11. I saw your Instagram post about Chili, so glad she is doing well after her surgery. So much to enjoy in this post. I love your house tours, love doing that. We just returned from Tuscany early summer. We stayed in a villa surrounded with olive trees and grape vines, it was breathtaking! I’m ready to take another trip there, magical. Your daughters are delightful, always love hearing about them. I know you will enjoy every minute of planning a wedding! Look forward to hearing about the fun........Happy weekend. We are into our AL Crimson Tide today..........

  13. That was one expensive sock! Glad Chili is feeling better.

  14. Poor Chili! I guess the Mista felt at least a little guilty for leaving the sock out? One of my sisters had an Old English sheepdog that ate socks regularly. Instead of a pooper scooper for the yard, they used a sock scooper, no kidding.
I can't wait to read that Property Bros inside scoop. My husband really thinks they completely gut and renovate a whole house in 6 wks for $200,000. Right.

  15. Poor Chili. How was he able to actually eat it and get it into his stomach?? I wish him a speedy recovery.
I use bone broth in cooking and soups, because it's supposed to be healthier with the collagen.
    Have a great week.
