Driving Miss Daisy/TTT

Hi Everybody!  It's me - Miss Daisy reporting back after spending the past three months out in the world having fun.  If you are new here, I am Katie's MacKenzie-Childs tote. 

First stop was Grandpa's 100th birthday party.  I met lots of people, and many were curious about me.  My Mom told them that I was like Flat Stanley for post-menopausal women.

I'm not sure what that means, but as Mom says... when in doubt take it as a compliment.

A week later, Mom met one of her favorite blogger friends for lunch, Mo from Mocadeaux.  

Mom and Mo like to gab a lot.

Speaking of gabbing, Mom's Sista came to Boston for her birthday celebration.  I asked Mom if I could tell you how old she is and she told me that I could say 40ish.

Is "ish" equivalent to 21 years?

Aunt Sista bought Mom some birthday balloons which she kept switching around.

No offense Mom, but nobody is going to believe that you are 16.

18 - maybe.

The next week, Mom and I met Annie, Mary, and Teri for the Beacon Hill Garden Tour.

Mom oohed and aahed the whole time. Between you and me, I think Mom loves this tour more than she loves me. 

Mom and I went to the first Breakfast with the Authors of the season.

Mom got to spend time with her buddy, Anne, rub elbows with some authors, and made two new friends.

A perfect day in Mom's book.

No pun intended. 

Mom was back with her buddies Annie and Mary for the Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour.  Mom said it was the best house tour that she has ever taken.

I think that she liked it because every house served snacks. 

We did lots of shopping together.

Sometimes the shopkeepers give Mom a funny look when she walks into a store with a huuuuge bag like me.

Not to worry folks.

No ten-finger discount for my Mom!

She enjoys spending Dad's money too much.

Mom couldn't wait for Kate the Great's visit.

We took her to the Cape for a day.

You know how Mom's Grandma told her that it is a good day if you make a new friend?  Well, let me introduce you to Poppy, Kate's tote.  I got to hang out with her all weekend.

What a relief.

I can only take so much of Mom.

TTT/ Driving Miss Daisy

Hi, Everybody!  I'm baaaack!  To refresh your memory, I am Mom's MacKenzie-Childs Tote, otherwise known as Miss Daisy.   Last time we got together was September.  Boy, three months sure flew by!

Poor Mom had a terrible week. Dad was out of town on business and every time he travels, something breaks.  She finally got her Photoshop up and running and the next thing we know, our Internet hit the bricks.  For two very long days, Mom was beside herself.  The guys finally came today and told her it was fixed and left.  Mom was so excited and made herself a steaming cup of her favorite tea.  She sat down at her computer, and the next thing I heard was a loud wail.  It wasn't fixed.  So then she had to call Xfinity back, press a lot of buttons, and answer the same questions she answered the day before.  The guys came back, finally fixed it, and the rest is history. 

These past few months have been an adventure for me.  And one of the best parts of it was meeting some of my Tote Sistas in real life. 

In September, Big Sis #1 and Adorable Jonathon came home for a visit.  They both love the water and wanted to spend as much time around it as possible.  This is AJ holding me when we had lunch waterside in Scituate.

The next day, we took the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. 
Not to worry, we didn't take this boat.

In September, Mom brought me to a luncheon at her sweet Cousin Louise's beautiful home.  I also got to meet Mom's friend, darling Doris.  

One day,  we met Mom's friend,  Kathy in Framingham and checked out the new Home Sense.

One picture-perfect Saturday, Mom and Dad took me to the Cape, and we shopped at Brewster General Store.  They have lots of cute things, and the staff was so nice.

They kind of talk funny though, they say stuff like Brewstah.

After browsing, we had lunch at the Chatham Bars Inn.

I had the best seat in the house.

Mom was very excited for October to roll around.  We headed to NYC to meet up with Big Sis #1 and also have lunch with her Traveling Tote friends.

They met at The Russian Tea Room. Mom had a great time chatting it up with all her fellow Toters.  This video highlights all of their fun escapades.

I got to ride in my first pedicab that weekend.  You can't see me because Mom was holding on to me so tight.

The Tales of the Traveling Tote / Driving Miss Daisy

Good morning.  Allow me to introduce myself.  I am Miss Daisy, otherwise known as Katie Clooney's MacKenzie Child's Traveling Tote.  My Dad bought me for my Mom about 4 months ago because according to my Dad, my Mom whined a lot that she wanted to join the Tales of the Traveling Tote group of cool bloggers.  As always, my Mom's wish is my Dad's command, and before we knew it, Mom had me hanging off her shoulder in a matter or days.

I met my new siblings, Chowdah, the overgrown goofball of a golden doodle and Chili, the Maltipoo and self-appointed diva of the house with the enlarged ego.  I have learned that in my new home it's Chili's way or the highway. 

These attention-seeking, four-legged mutts pups don't really "get" me, especially the little one.  Chili continually wonders why I get to go out with Mom and have fun and they have to stay home in the laundry room, otherwise referred to as the nursery for the needy. 

Here are some of my fun adventures that I have been on with my Mom.  

Mom and Dad took me to a town on the Cape called Mashpee.  Or as I call it, pretty town with a weird name.  It has great shopping and Mom tells me great restaurants with delicious food, though I can't verify that statement because I had to sit on the ground next to her chair.  It's not easy being me. 

My Mom loves the water so whenever a sunny, warm day comes around, she researches restaurants with waterfront, outdoor seating.  We ended up in Scituate at TK O'Malley's, so everybody was happy.  Dad got to have a burger and Mom got to gaze at the water.
  

After lunch, Mom took me into one of her favorite stores, Joye.  Dad headed to the frozen yogurt place. 

Don't tell my Dad I told you this, but he likes to have a little yogurt with his huge helping of toppings.  He considers this "healthy" eating.
Mom never orders one but always manages to help herself to a few bites.  She says the calories don't count if you don't order or pay for it.

I got to meet my big Sis, #2.  I've been to North Carolina twice and got to see her graduate, met her beau, and even drove to Atlanta to do some apartment hunting with her.

We spent a lot of time at Southpoint Mall.

I even got to hang out with this gal.

One of my favorite adventures was going to a beautiful lunch at The Enchanted Home.  It was the most gorgeous house that I had ever been in!  I was hoping Mom would forget that she brought me and leave me there!

We spent a day strolling Beacon Hill's gardens.  

I got to meet some more of Mom's friends who were really a lot of fun.

I couldn't hear too much of the conversation because I had to hang on Mom's chair.

We went to a great Breakfast with the Authors and Mom met a lot of nice people.  I overheard one lady asking my Mom about me.  She said that I am the Flat Stanley of the Post-Menopausal set.  
I'll take that as a compliment.  
I guess.

Mom got to meet the founder of Tales of the Traveling Tote group, Patti of Pandora's Box on the Cape.  We also got to meet Miss Kenzie, Patti's sidekick.  It was refreshing to meet someone that's as cute as me.  The Moms enjoyed a delicious lunch while we hung out on our Mom's chairs.

 After lunch, we stopped over at the Lily Pad which carries tons of MacKenzie-Childs stuff.  My Mom placed me on the floor while browsing and almost couldn't find me amongst the many courtly checks.

Mom took me to a Literary Luncheon on the Cape last Friday.  
She hasn't written the post yet. 

Between you and me, I think that she's turning into a little bit of a slacker.
