Prime Time

I hope all is well in your world.  The Mister and I spent a delightful day on Sunday with Lucy and her Mom and Dad.  Adorable Jonathon asked the Mister to help him baby-proof the house. The Mister was so excited!  He packed a treasure trove of tools, command strips, and other odd-looking gadgets. Lucy's nest is more secure than Fort Knox.

Lucy is watching Grandpa use a drill with a concerned look on her face.

While the workmen were solving problem #157, I shared some grandmotherly advice.

It's never too early to start lying about your age.

This is the time to start shaving off some months.

Here is the Mister telling Lucy not to listen to a word Lovey says.

Obviously, Lucy's not buying it.

Lovey, why do you have so many lines on your face?

Bad lighting, Lucy.

Note to self: future words of wisdom: Lighting and Photoshop.

I haven't posted my Amazon buys for a while.

My #1 recommended these in her gift guide; she's right.
They're great!

An influencer recommended this serum to shrink pores.
The jury's still out.

I just started using this as a toner.
According to an influencer, peptides are are name of the game.

This was recommended by Hi in California, a reader of my blog.
It Works!!!!  I used it every morning and night, and it got rid of 3 spots.

I use these before I apply my makeup.  They prevent pilling, which is no longer a problem.

Always my first step before applying makeup.

This is a great brush; it is light, holds a curl without tangles, and takes the frizz out.

The brushes are perfect for drying my hair, and they're cheap!

Perfect size for travel.

On my auto-order list.

Millie has tummy issues.  The doctor recommended that she take these tabs daily, and she hasn't had to visit the vet for a few months, which is a record. They're expensive but cheaper than a visit to the Vet.

These are like crack cocaine to Millie.
We can get her to do anything with these special treats.

Another bribe.

A present for the Mister.

Another gift for the Mister.

A Christmas gift for KTG.

Ditto.

My favorite pens.

My fave low-cal treat.

Lucy loves her bath baby.

The ball pit is a hit!

One of Lucy's faves!

I needed to replenish my supply of turtlenecks.  I like 100% cotton, and they're hard to find.  These are well-made and comfy.
No free shipping on this one.

It's hard to find petites!
Good quality.

The Mister wears these on our walks.
He thinks he looks like a super hero.

These come in handy for arranging flowers.

I incorporated these into my vitamin regime.  They are supposed to prevent Vertigo.  I'd eat roadkill if it kept me from going down that path again.

These are also supposed to help.
Whether they do or not, these are delicious!

Stocking up.  It seems like everyone is sick.

These are warm and have great sound quality.

For the powder room.  The Mister keeps using my pretty hand towel, so I bought these for him.  He tells me that he prefers the fancy one.

  1. Lucy could truly be the next Gerber baby...so cute! I loved clicking through all your links. So many great finds. The treat that is the ultimate "crack" for our dogs are little training treats that I get at TJ Maxx or Homegoods. They are moist and must be very tasty. We have given that probiotic to our dogs before for tummy troubles. Hope you're having a good week and staying warm.

    1. Don't spend any money, save it because there is an economic collapse coming soon. Mark my words the fires burning California's economy will result in a correction.

  3. Ok girlfriend, love your glasses and don’t tell me they are peeper….. I have to tell you and your readers about an amazing online optical company with 2 stores in Florida (that unfortunately for me, not my bank account have not been to). It is Hipoptical.com The coolest, hippest glasses, at a price that you can not believe. $99 for frame and single prescription. If you need progressive, it is an additional $99. So for $198 you get the best quality frame and lenses. If you want sunglasses, add $20!!! You can virtual try them on and if you do not like them, the fit, the color, the WHATEVER… you can send them back and reselect or get a refund. Oh and you can get them in about 5 days! Crazy! Right!!! I have 6 pair. I sent the first pair back because I like my progressive prescription higher then normal so they redid them. Now every pair is perfect. I also sent one pair back because I did not like the shape and color. I selected a completely different pair. They offer this within 30 days. They will send a return label deducing. $5. the often have sales… buy 2 pair and get a discount. I get compliments all the time. I’m like a walking advertisement for them!!!
Lucy is of course magnificent and I just ran down to Tampa to see the twins. The are still holding out for her hand in marriage but between you and me, I would wait to see who starts to crawl first. I’ve heard that is a sign of intelligence!!! LOL oh and BTW I do not work for the company!
    Happy January

  5. Little Lucy is a doll! I ordered that hairbrush, I have a lot of hair and it's thick as well. My old brush has had it and I've been needing to replace it. BTW, I don't know why my post shows as "anonymous" this is Judy (Gracious Southern Living).

  8. I wish you had moved to Phoenix, Scottsdale or Paradise Valley instead of Texas. We could be such good friends. I love your blog, your suggestions and your darling family. My husband likes to cook, too. However, yours could teach him a few things, I think.
Thank you for all the effort and time you put in your blog. It is treasured by so many.

  9. Hi Katie! So glad you shared your Amazon picks as I too miss the links party that Tanya did last year. Added some of yours to my wish list. And why does AJ & #1 need to baby proof? Don’t they trust that new adorable to not get where she doesn’t belong??? She’s a cutie for sure!
me no longer in HI , now in NorCal.
Been here 6 months so perhaps I should say me in NorCal.

  10. Good idea to baby proof everything, although there is a glaring disaster in the making. There is a lighted candle there, a big no-no around babies and toddlers. The little ones are good for knocking stuff over, if that candle hits all the plastics, rugs, nylon, decor then the whole thing goes up in flames like the LA fires.

  12. Hi Katie,
Be careful of Lumify. I have dry eye, been dealing with it for years. When I talked to my eye doctor about it she warned me that it can cause dry eye, or make your dry eye worse. I never used the sample. Maybe you are okay with it, I just felt I needed to give you a heads up.
Lucy just gets more beautiful, pretty blue eyes. I can see her on the cover of a baby magazine
