The Friday Files

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you had a wonderful week.  Last night, I met my buddy, Annie for dinner at the Red Lion Tavern which is a favorite of mine. We then we went on to a Book Club that has just been revived by my favorite bookstore, Buttonwood Books & ToysSo now I have two wonderful book clubs to look forward to every month.

The book up for discussion was this one.  I did not finish it because I didn't care for it all.  The entire group felt the same way, so I was in good company.

Next up is the same book that I am reading for my other book club.

Jackpot!

Tommy Mottola, former chairman of Sony Music and Entertainment is selling his home in Greenwich.  You can find more pics here.

A former anchorman's Pound Ridge, NY home is up for sale.  You can find the specs here

*****

Lee Radziwill's gorgeous Upper East Side pad is also for sale.  More pics can be found here.

Holy moly this savory tart looks positively delish.
You can find the recipe here.

Are you planning on hosting some houseguests?
You can find 38 yummy brunch recipes right here.

*****

Red Wine Brownies!!

My #1 would love this cake because it is pink.

Only three ingredients in this chocolate mousse!!

Do you need some dessert inspiration for Mother's Day?
You can find it right here.

When Chili wants to come in from outside, she scratches at the door.  Chowdah, on the other hand, is much more vocal about it.  Someone came up with the idea of inventing a doggie doorbell. I'm not so sure my old dogs can be trained to do new tricks.

You can read all about it here.

Is your dog a digger?  We've got one, and her name rhymes with Silly.  Our girl can dig at her bed for hours.  Here's why.

*****

Here's a new take on a Mother's Day gift.

Guess who is getting into the hotel biz.

*****

Someone else is excited about Archie's birth.

*****

I'm planning on buying a few of these this year to honor my #1 girl.

*****

I ordered another pair of these jeans because they are so flattering as well as comfy.  Not a bad price, either.

*****

Here are some of the best new apps for iPhones and iPads this month.

*****

Speaking of apps, who besides me thinks that this is a bad idea?

*****

And
who besides me thinks that this idea stinks.

Happy Mother's Day!

I know that I have shown this video several times, but it is still my favorite.  It could be because it strikes close to home.

Until next time...

I wish that they would learn to smile more...

I always love these posts and clicked over to several of the links. What???No link to Charles' outfit? Seriously- I might want a kilt like that!
My son's dog rings a string of bells he has on the patio doors to be let out. He is super smart and cute....a Golden-Doodle....but OH SO naughty! lol He is just a baby yet though at 9 months old.

  3. What a relief that the entire book club group disliked the book. It's never fun to be the odd man out. My tabs are all open now since I've clicked all the links in this post. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  5. I love that Mother's Day video too. Have watched it for years. And when we brought our rescue dog, Cash, home almost 14 years ago, we put bells on the doorknob that he could "ring" when he wanted to go out. Worked like a charm!

  9. I printed the recipe for the pavlovas with strawberry-rhubarb compote; it looked so delish.
Now if only I could find somebody to make it for me for Mother's Day. Hope your Mother's Day is lovely.

  10. Toured Castle of Mey, the land of Charles's kilt, Sis. Fantastic location but the kitchen is in dire need of a revamp. Spotted photo of Camilla on a side table which of course made me think of Diana ...

  11. Happy Mother's Day Katie! How clever to be reading the same book for 2 book clubs! And kudos to you for NOT finishing a book you weren't enjoying, time is much too valuable! I like the idea of a doggie doorbell, good luck!
