Friday's Favorite Things

Happy Friday, dear friends.  Before I get into my favorite things, I want to show you what I spotted yesterday on my walk.

Hallelujah!

My enthusiasm was dampened when I was greeted by these cold eyes.  They don't like it when Mama goes on a walk without them.

I have a very special guest today.  Her name is #1, and she was kind enough to write about her latest favorite thing.  For the past couple of months, my girl has been calling me on her way home from one of her classes bursting with enthusiasm.

My new "favorite thing" is ClassPass. I have always been the type to look into all different kinds of studios but at the last second, I back out because committing to one type of exercise is a big commitment! Yoga every day would get incredibly boring and not to mention, $250 membership / month would be better spent at J. Crew!

ClassPass allows me to try countless studios and exercises. For example, this week I am doing Barre, Spin, Pilates, Kickboxing and then Spin again. There is such a sense of community that comes with CP too - you can always count on working out next to a girl that is new to that particular class which makes for a much less intimidating experience.

CP also has an easy-to-use app where you can schedule your workouts ahead of time. Their $15 cancelation policy (within 12 hours of class time) is such a motivation to get my chubby behind to class!

I love my new topiary in my planter from The Enchanted Home.  Now, if I can keep it alive for more than a month, it will be a miracle.

I have seen photos of avocado and egg all over my facebook.  After hearing Dr. Oz declare it a superfood, I finally tried it and I am a fan.  It takes less than 2 minutes to make it in the microwave.  Along with being healthy, it also keeps me full for hours, which is a feat in itself.

Amazon Prime

This series covers the story of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald in the days before she marries F. Scott Fitzgerald.  Christina Ricci captures Zelda's effervescent personality and Joy de Vivre.

Synopsis

I tuned into The Family because I love Joan Allen.  There are plenty of twists and turns in this intriguing story of a kidnapped boy who comes home after ten years.  Every week I think I have it figured out, and I am always wrong.

If you like shiny wood floors, Quick Shine is the product for you.  Just mop it on after the floor is washed and the floors look brand new.  It even keeps them sparkling with two crazy doggies.  You can find it at Walmart.

These will make your job even easier!

Love this tray!!

My new favorite website is Draper James, which was founded by Reese Witherspoon.  It has great clothes and fabulous accessories for your wardrobe as well as your home.

This is not a sponsored post even though Reese and I look like we are twins separated at birth.

What's your new favorite thing?

Until next time...

A Checkered Hodgepodge

Hello, dear friends.  Happy Hodgepodge Day!  Today it is suppose to hit 70 degrees!  I am counting the minutes until the first day of Spring.

1.  March is National Women's History Month.  In that vein who are three women who've been influential in your life?  How so?

I didn't realize how much my Mother influenced me until I had children of my own and heard her words of wisdom coming out of my mouth.

Sista and I would spend weekends with my Grandmother.  She was so sweet and we loved going to her house and playing gin rummy.

Last but not least, my buddy Kate is the epitome of courage and grace.

2.  In what ways do you think women have it easier than men?

I don't think women have it easier than men. I think men have it easier than women.

3.  What do you need most right now: faith, love, hope, or peace?

I'll take a dash of all four.

4.  Do you have a collection?  If so, what do you collect and why?

The only thing that I collect in my very old house is dust.

5.  Plaids, checks, polka dots, stripes... your favorite?

Checks please.

6.  In what ways are you the same as your childhood self?

"Lucky" for my friends and family members, I have the same sense of humor that I had at six years old.

7.  You're a contestant on the TV show.   What category will you ace?

TV SHOWS FROM THE '70's WITH FEMALE LEADS.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

What Jeopardy category could you ace?

Until next time...

A New 'Do & A Touch of Green

Happy Sunday, dear friends.  Remember I told you in my last post that I have a snazzy new hairdo?  Well, it looked pretty cute until I washed it and took a blow dryer to it.

I gave my hairdresser this picture as inspiration.

It now looks like a mad woman took scissors to my hair while I was sleeping.  I've used 2 curling irons, 3 straighteners, and buckets of hair gel on it, and it looks something like this.  Just not as good.

I'm thinking of adding this fashion accessory to my wardrobe.

Enough about me.  It was the Mister's turn to choose the movie this weekend.  Guess what he picked.

Yup.

To sum this flick up, it is two very long hours of shooting, stabbing, running, sweating and blowing up half of London.  I told the Mister that he would have to sit through three showings of My Big Fat Greek Wedding II to make up for this one.

By the way, if you're interested in the Mister's critique, he summed it up in two words:  Oscar worthy.

In honor of one of my favorite holidays this month, St. Patrick's Day, I have let my fingers do the walking through Pinterest in search of rooms with the perfect touch of green.
