Gift Guide for the Millennial

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you are having a good week.  All is well here except it is pretty darn cold.  I've been flying solo this week because the Mister has been away on business.  I miss him, but I love the freedom of leaving a few dishes in the sink and watching Real Housewives till my heart's content.  The Sorority House is closing down this afternoon when you-know-who gets home.

This is a rundown on our Thanksgiving weekend through the lens of my iPhone.

I did all of my Christmas decorating before Thanksgiving because the Newlyweds will be spending the holiday in the great state of Texas.

They did a lot of catching up with the pooches.

We christened Thanksgiving Eve our First Annual Make Your Own Pizza Night.

I love these pics so much.
One confident Adult, three doubtful Millennials.

AJ asking Chowdah if this is the Mister's first try at the pizza oven.

AJ... I wonder if the inlaws have life insurance.

Should we be worried?

Smile for Mommy!
Chow would rather look at AJ.

On our way to see Mr. Rogers.
We all loved it.

The Newlyweds opened their gifts from our family.

Look at Chow ...
there is no sadder sight to Chow than an empty plate, especially when people are preoccupied.

Big Bravo fans!

Really?
Another tie?

When I was in line at the Dollar Store the other day, I spotted a pregnancy test.
I had to get it for her.

Dad, when's our turn?

Wow.
This is fun.
How many weeks until Christmas?

Making an addendum to her Christmas list.

Our #1 and Adorable Jonathon agreed to come up with some gift ideas for the Millennial.

#1 Suggestions

Sephora
  • Olaplex Shampoo  — The most life-changing shampoo (and conditioner!) Makes your hair super healthy & strong (and has the best "suds.")

  • The Most Comfortable & Quality (Amazon) Sweater — This sweater is such great quality - really warm and comfortable. I struggle with finding an oversized look without looking sloppy - this is oversized and fitted in all the right ways! It comes in tons of colors, too.
  • Cure Exfoliating Gel — This Korean beauty gel is world-famous, and I just tried it for the first time. It gently exfoliates dead skin and leaves your skin fresh, smooth & hydrated.

  • 10' Cord — Once you have a long iPhone cord, you never go back! I love this one because the cord is a durable (and nice-looking) rope texture.

  • Pearl Accessories (Headband, Hoop Earrings) — Anything with pearls is trending right now. I knew they would come back, Mom!  These are great quality, super cheap, and great stocking stuffers!

  • Dior Lip Glow — A tinted lip balm that gives the PERFECT amount of color!

  • The Ordinary Skincare — I am a HUGE fan of The Ordinary. Their products aren't expensive because they are pure ingredients without the markup that comes from fancy additives and packaging. Really great quality of products that have transformed my skin!

  • Ice Face Roller — The BEST for the day after some carbs and wine! I keep mine in the freezer and use it when my face needs to "de-puff," and it feels so refreshing.

  • Silk Pillowcase — Such a luxurious gift to receive, and it is wonderful for your skin & hair!

  • Clarins V Facial Intensive Wrap — Life. Changing! Recommended by beauty blogger Kathleen Jennings, it is her #1 beauty pick every single year (and I trust all of her recommendations)! Like the ice roller, it is perfect for the morning after some pizza and wine - it de-puffs you and ultimately slims your face.

  • Wine Aerator — Aerates and dispenses wine like a soda fountain! Love this!!

  • Tom Ford "Tobacco Vanilla" Perfume — A pricey gift but worth the purchase - it is the most amazing scent EVER.

  • Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eyeshadow — Great stocking stuffers - they make applying eye makeup SO easy, and they are the most beautiful colors ("Rose Gold" is beautiful & so universal)!

  • Summer Friday Jetlag Mask— Super hydrating and perfect for gals that are always traveling! I got this for my sister's birthday, and she LOVES it.

Adorable Jonathon's Suggestions

Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve: Everyone has dry hands during the winter, and this stuff is the best. You can wash your hands multiple times without having to reapply.

Amazon Packing Cubes: I now travel weekly for work, and packing cubes have made the entire packing/unpacking process so easy.

UGG Men's slippers: I was never a big slipper person until #1 received a pair of these for Christmas last year. They are the best and make a great gift.

Travel Steamer: Ironing takes too long, and dry cleaning is expensive in NYC, so this steamer has been perfect for getting the wrinkles out of my clothes. I even travel with it, since I haven't figured out how to pack things without them getting wrinkled.

North Face Tech Gloves: These were at the top of my Christmas list this year. I love that North Face has touchscreen-friendly gloves. They look a lot warmer than the typical tech gloves that are very thin.

North Face hat (deep fit):  I appreciate the deep fit option because the "One Size fits all" fit never goes entirely over my ears.

ON Cloud Running Shoe: These are my new favorite shoes. They are so comfortable and come pre-tied, so they just slip on.  If you don't trust me, then read the reviews. They are ON's best-selling shoe! They look pretty cool too if you ask me. Don't ask #1 what she thinks.

SNOOZ Sound Machine: I cannot sleep without this now, I even travel with it. It is the best white noise sound machine out there and worth the money!

Bose Sound Link Earphones: I love my Apple AirPods for walking around and long work calls, but these Bose headphones are the best for traveling. They are also a great price this year, but for people that want to splurge, there is a $400 Noise-canceling option... with built-in Amazon Alexa.

Outdoor Voices Sweatee T-Shirt: The most comfortable t-shirt- I
have a few of these and don't wear any of my other t-shirts anymore. And everyone in their late 20s needs new t-shirts since we're too old for our old college t-shirts!

Thank you, #1 and Adorable Jonathon.
You have great taste!

  3. Great pics of the fam. I can just imagine the fun had making pizzas and seeing if it was all going to work. I know it is so lively when the kids are all at the house. Nice to have a couple of quiet days all by yourself too. Great ideas from the kids. I have got to get myself in gear on the shopping because I am an online shopper and Christmas is coming quick. Yikes.
Those pups are too cute. That pic of Chow looking at the empty plate wins the prize:)
