The Friday Files

I hope that all is well in your world. First of all, I want to thank all of you who left a sweet comment welcoming me back.  Every word touched my heart, and I am so grateful for all of my supportive readers.

This week flew by for us. We saw a pretty good movie.  We were so happy to see that there was a flick in the theater that we actually wanted to see.  We had a lengthy dry spell.

This is a remake of The War of the Roses, which was pretty good. It had some very funny moments and a few dark ones. I'm not sure it's worth the money for the ticket, but I do recommend it when it comes on TV.

And for all of you who appreciate interior design, there is a house in it that will blow your socks off.

Yesterday, I joined my two bff's from the 'hood for lunch at Sweet Paris Cafe.  It just opened, and the food and service were magnifique. If you enjoy crepes, this is your kind of place.

Take a look at this gorgeous cottage on Lake Oconee designed by Sande Beck.

Designer Anthony Squatrito renovated his 18th-century charming home in the Hamptons for his partner and himself.

Are you in the market for a 1820 Greek Revival farmhouse?

You will have to move to Shrewsbury, Vermont

If you are looking for a home in Hawaii, this celeb's home is for sale.  All you have to do is hit her with your best shot.

This is for all you foodies out there.  Hats off to this Portuguese chef who has been serving a different menu daily for 30 years.
Did I mention that he has two Michelin stars?

More food news...
Can you tell I'm hungry?

No line too long for the Mister to land his hands on this one.

The Great British Baking Show debuts tonight.  If you are curious, here is the cast.

Here is an interesting take on love and gossip.

Have you ever had to hand over your passport to a hotel to be held for the duration of your stay?
We have.

When my granddaughter, Lucy, feels out of sorts and overwhelmed, her Mama asks her"What do you need to do?" She stops, takes a deep breath.   It is like she changes her own channel! All is well again in Lucy's world.

I wish I knew that trick when I was raising Lucy's Mama and Auntie!

Here are 7 calming techniques that I am going to keep in my back pocket just in case the Mister throws another one of his hissy fits.

Lucky for me, I am even-tempered.

This is the best idea of the day!

I know one little girl named Lucy will be delighted to hear Miss Rachel is now on Netflix.

The Mister and I love this show!
It premiered last week on Netflix.
I need to invest in a brown pantsuit.

You will appreciate Loft's new arrivals if you believe that leopard print is the new neutral.

  2. I hear that The Roses is good but not great and you confirmed it - still might see it this weekend in the theater. This summer my husband and I very much enjoyed F1 with Brad "He's-Still-Got-It" Pitt and Mission Impossible with Tom "Very-Fit-But-Needs-a-Haircut" Cruise." One of my favorite snacks is warming up a pre-made Mellissa's crepe and covering it in a thin layer of Nutella then sliced strawberries and bananas. And speaking of food, we love those super fancy chock-full-of-stuff milkshake shops - but they are not common.

  3. We thought the same thing about the Roses...it was ok, but not worth seeing in the theater. Hope you have a good weekend!

  7. Great to see The Friday Files again!!! You've sold me on watching The Rose at home for the interior decorating, check. I'll be playing the lottery so I can dine at Vila Joya and you and the Mister will be my guests! The Girlfriend looks scary good and gives me chills like Play Misty for Me! TGIF Katie!
