I hope that all is well in your world. I am delighted to report that our world got a lot brighter.
Darlin' Will proposed!
And we couldn't be happier.
Let me give you a glance at what happened behind the scenes. About six weeks ago, the Mister and I got a text from Darling Will. He asked if he could take us to breakfast the next morning because he had a BIG QUESTION to ask us.
I responded with this and one word.
YESSSSSSSS!!
So we met DW at Dream Cafe. We chatted for a bit, and he finally said you're probably wondering why I asked you here. He said some really sweet words about his love for our girl. He then said he wanted the people they loved to be involved in the special day. He has two sisters whom he is very close to. One of them lives in California, so he would let us know after he talked to her when she will be back in Texas.
Meanwhile, our #2 was in Chicago on business. DW had the forethought to disconnect his Find Friends app so she would not see that we were together. Within seconds, he got a text asking WHY DID YOU UNFRIEND ME? He told her he was having trouble with his phone.

From that day forward, our lips were sealed. It wasn't easy because we chat with #2 a couple of times a day. I knew that our weakest link was the Mister, and I also knew how clever my #2 could be. I had to monitor the Mister's calls. Every other day, she would casually ask if we had talked to DW.
On Sunday evening, DW and #2 went out to dinner. Meanwhile, DW's Mom and sweet sisters were decorating their house with buckets of balloons and set a table chock-full of delicious treats and nibbles, including ring pops for the nine nieces and nephews, and a champagne tower.
The sisters checked their location, so we could listen quietly at the door.
You could hear a pin drop.
Then, one unknown bystander declared:
Surprise Done!
Bye bye Surprise!
When the happy couple arrived home from their dinner date, DW bent down to pick up the ring box hidden behind the acorn. In a matter of seconds, he got down on his knee, a photographer popped out of the bushes, and we heard #2 say, "OMG!" over and over again.
To say she was shocked when she saw their house full of their family members is an understatement.
There is no greater feeling in this world than seeing your children happy.
Praise the Lord and thank you, Hinge!

ReplyDeleteSo wonderful when you like your daughter or son's marriage partner. Lots of good gift ideas. I have been wearing Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment for years and I like the moisturizing and bit of color (Rose tastes like lemon vanilla).

Whether it’s a lamp, painting, or decorative piece, the right choice adds so much warmth and style.
