Shopping for Spring Accessories

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you are having a good weekend.  We have been blessed with beautiful weather.  Yesterday, the Mister and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch, tackled some errands, and even got in some shopping.  Btw... Talbots is having a 30% off sale on your entire purchase.

I love to shop for accessories because I don't have to deal with sizes or trying anything on, except for shoes.

I spotted some cute things yesterday and even indulged in a few.

If you haven't guessed by now, I am a big "scarf" person.  I like them for a couple of reasons.  First of all, a scarf can take a somewhat boring outfit and take it up a notch.  Secondly, it brings the eye up away from my a tummy bulge or wide hips.  Lastly, and most importantly, it covers my a turkey neck.

Here are a few that caught my eye.

Tuckernuck

I have almost all of the Tuckernuck scarves.
They are a great size - big enough to wear as a wrap.
I bought this dress and scarf.

I am in the market for a new foldable hat.
Many are now offering sun protection.

I snapped this selfie of me trying one on yesterday.

Just like many of my friends that are shoe people, I am a sucker for a cute purse.

My #1 has this purse.
This one comes with a few color choices for the liner.

This one is great for evening wear.

When I find a pair of shoes that are both cute and comfortable, I stick with them.  Toni Pons come in a variety of colors and heel height.

I am not going to tell you how many pairs I own for fear of the Mister reading this.

I also discovered Charleston shoes last Summer which are equally comfortable.

These are really comfy.

I also love to shop for cute Summery costume jewelry.

Last, but not least, here are a couple of purchases that I made that I am delighted with.

This eyelet top is even prettier in real life.

These high-waisted jeans fit me like a glove and are super comfy.

In conclusion, did you know that today is National No Housework Day?  I look forward to this day all year long.

What a perfect excuse to ditch the mop and go shopping!

Until next time...

I'm not the only one in the family that covets accessories.

  1. Love the scarves and those cute shoes . . . sadly, my Mister - who apparently has nothing to do the morning - is looking over my shoulder inquiring what I’m doing. I assured him I am NOT online shopping but simply catching up with my dear friend, the Preppy Empty Nester’s, latest blog posts, and what is it to him anyway. Harrumph . . . #caughtintheact

  6. Cute, cute, cute! Love scarves, for warmth mostly. All that jewelry is adorable, so are the purses. I still have the wicker basket purse I made in 5th grade with monogrammed needlepoint front panel and fabric lining, grosgrain ribbon - remember those? That one which is 2 down from the suggested evening wicker reminded me of it. :) Lately, though, all I've been wearing are clothes to get dirty in while packing.....ugh. Have a great week!

  11. Visiting from Boxing Daily. We do speaking tours. Love the scarves, hats, jewelry ... ok, all of it. Nicely done, Sis. Now if my two could only refrain from saying "stand away from the scarves, Mom" ...
