Entertaining Book Club

Hello, dear friends.  How was your weekend?  The Mister and I had a wonderful one.  It was topped off on Easter Sunday at a lovely brunch hosted by our dear friends, Annie and Bob.  The food was positively delicious and the company beyond compare.

Speaking of company, I hosted my beloved Book Club last Thursday evening with A LOT of help from my Mister.  I told you that I would take pics and I kept my promise.

Here's the rundown.

While Chili and I were waiting for the guests to arrive we decided to use those few minutes to show you around.

Chowdah went to camp for the night, so Chili was the official hostess with the mostess.

Life would be so much easier for her if she would smile more.

We had all our bunnies in a row.

The table is all set.

Party favors were in place.

For hors d'oeuvres, the Mister prepared a toasted Naan bar.  He included hummus, tabouli, roasted tomatoes, red peppers, olives, prosciutto and some other stuff that I probably forgot.

While the ladies were enjoying their 'tails and d'oeuvres in the den,  the Mister kept busy preparing our filets with blue cheese au gratin.

Accompanying the filets were grilled vegetables and couscous with carrots, asparagus, snap peas, and a dash of unicorn salt.

Don't worry... I remembered to take the plastic off the avocado tzatziki, which was delish btw.

Panacotta with fresh berries and mint topped off our yummy meal.

I chose this book to read and discuss.  

It received mixed reviews, most of them good.

As always, it was another fabulous evening with these delightful ladies.  I am so blessed to call them friends.

Blue & White Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Hello, dear friends.  How is your week going?  I've been busy getting ready to host my Book Club on Thursday night.  I'm in charge of the table, wine, and flowers.  The Mister is delegated to the food, which is fortunate for our guests.  If I cooked, the ladies would be munching on Weight Watchers chili - one of the few things I know how to make.
