I hope all is well in your world and you enjoyed the holidays. We certainly did, and I have the hips to prove it.

We couldn't have had better weather for the two weeks of holiday fun.
Hangin' at #2's house.
Grandpa taught Lucy to drive.
Grandpa lecturing his student driver on the rules of the road.

They get a kick out of each other.
On the 23rd, we joined AJ's family for a fabulous family happy hour at Lucy's house. Here is Uncle Michael showing Lucy how she can use her Dada's credit card online.
We hosted Christmas Eve.
Side note: has anyone noticed that green hydrangeas last longer than any other color?
The lovebirds!
No news on a wedding date yet!
I gave both of my girls this cap and had a favorite granddaughter hat made on Etsy. Since my #2 was the only one who tried it on, she has now earned the title.
As part of our Christmas Eve tradition, we feast on appetizers à la the Mister.
The Mister's steak tartare is to die for!
And now...
the piece de resistance!
The Mister's homemade Biscoff Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches with a side of TJ's Peppermint Bark.
On Christmas Day, we popped over to Lucy's house to see what Santa brought her. She was sweet enough to make us breakfast on her new kitchen set.
We told her it was delicious, but between you and me, she's got a heavy hand with the salt shaker.
Lucy received new dollies and lots of other fun toys from Santa. And can you guess what her favorite toy was?
Her light-up electric toothbrush!
She brushed all her babies' teeth and even offered to give mine a whirl.
Although tempting, I took a pass.
I love this pic!
Evidently, Lucy was smart enough to listen to the weather forecast.I cannot say the same for her grandmother.
It was 80 degrees and sunny.
Hmmm... she reminds me of another little girl I know.
A few days later #1, Lucy, and I went dress shopping with a certain someone who chooses to remain nameless.
And yes, she said yes to the dress.
I thought everything was going well until Lucy asked me how old she had to be to be a child bride.
I told her 47.
You and Lucy are the cutest! Thanks for sharing

DeleteI absolutely love Lucy's wardrobe. The dresses with the smocking are gorgeous. I particularly loved the green gingham with the trees. The Mackenzie Childs dinnerware is spectacular. I hope you saved some tartare for Santa, it looks amazing.

DeleteEvery photo starring Miss Lucy is fab but my favorite is the Mister strolling hand in hand with Lucy, it needs to be framed! 💖 "Yes to the dress", exciting times ahead for all of you! I love The Zodiac Room, it's the perfect place to toast the bride to be! You are the queen of tablescapes Katie and coupled with the Mister's recipes it would make a great coffee table book! Cheers to another wonderful year of Preppyemptynester in 2026 KTG
