Holiday Home Tour

Hello, dear friends.  I hope that you had a good week.  I'm about to make it better because I have a stunning home tour for you today.

Allow me to backtrack. I have known Jenny since the very early days of my blog.  She was one of my few readers who frequently left me sweet comments with words of encouragement.  We struck up a friendship, and she would occasionally update me on her house hunting and move to Davidson, North Carolina.  She sent me a few pics of her gorgeous house and agreed to let me do a Holiday Home Tour back in 2014.  It was one of the top three of my most popular posts that year. It's one not to be missed.

So, recently I received an email from Jenny telling me about her fabulous neighbors who have impeccable taste.  She asked me if I would be interested in doing a Holiday House Tour on the blog.  She was sweet enough to not only take the pictures but also write the text.  Needless, to say, I could not say yes fast enough.

I am so excited to share this tour with you.

Meet homeowners John and Doug, two very talented, creative, and fun-loving guys who certainly know how to deck out their Davidson, NC home for the holidays. John and Doug purchased their French Provincial home in 2016 and have spent the last 4 years lovingly renovating, updating, and adding on great new spaces to the house. They love paying special attention to their home’s Charleston-feel exterior. Among other additions, they have selected several beautiful gas lanterns that add a special warm glow for the holidays. Their most recent addition to the exterior is a beautiful covered back terrace. You can see their pups, Frank and Buddy, breaking in this new cozy exterior space!

In addition to work on their own home, Doug and John do an incredible job flipping homes in the Charlotte area.  The transformations of their “flips” are unbelievable and with John’s background in design and Doug’s real estate experience, they have the perfect skill set for this rewarding work.

Each year, they seem to outdo their decorating with beautiful new additions and clever new twists on their decorating theme. A new addition to the tree this year are the large decorative ornaments and packages sitting beneath it!

A favorite collection of Nutcrackers is definitely something that is a constant from year to year.... but they find themselves located in a new spot this year on the Sitting Room mantle for Xmas 2020.

These two friendly guys entertain as beautifully as they decorate and will miss hosting their annual Open House Holiday Party this year.

Thanks for inviting us into your lovely holiday home John and Doug... it is truly stunning!

Many thanks to you, Jenny, for introducing us to John and Doug and their gorgeous home.  By the way, I told the Mister that I want to move to your neighborhood.

Need some last-minute gift inspiration?

I have some herehere, hereherehereherehere and here.

Until next time...

Frank and Buddy give a whole new meaning to the term lucky dog.

  4. The house is gorgeous...I love the color of the room with the Nutcrackers...any chance someone (hint, hint..you) could find out the color and brand? I need some new color in my house...home for the holidays takes on new meaning this year...tired of seeing the same old neutrals donning my decked halls.

  15. Not so fast, Mrs. Clooney. If there's a home for sale in their neighborhood, I call first dibs. I cannot show this post to Pippa and Maggie ... they'll want to change places with Frank and Buddy post haste. What a stunning home ... the Christmas decor is glorious. I'm speechless and rethinking my sad attempt at holiday festivity. Thank you, Jenny ... for introducing us to this dynamic duo. How can I finagle an invite to their Holiday Open House next year?! xo
